Another item to check is under Tools, Options, Preferences, Calendar Options, Free/Busy Options. I’ve had users publish “0” months to the server. 2cents

    • I just wanted to thank you for THE solution to the problem one of my users was having. There was an .asd file that way reaking havoc and deleting it was the solution. And in the spirit of Halloween, frank spook

    • Just today I encountered a user who is having a similar problem in that every time they open Word they get an autorecover file. They have “Saved As” and that works until the next time they log in.

So, I’m having them try the solutions I just read here. I’ll let you know if this works.

This is such a wonderful support tool! Thanks for everyone’s hard work. fanfare

    • in reply to: Exporting Calendar Events (Outlook 2000) #548649

This will indeed work EXCEPT if your calendar contains recurring appointments/meetings, the recurring items won’t export correctly – you don’t get ALL of the appointments. For example, I have a weekly meeting that is set up as “recurring”. When I export, only ONE appointment is exported (the first one I created). If I need the other dates in my access table, I have to manually enter them. Microsoft knows that this is a problem. Additionally, Outlook will NOT export required attendees. Yes, Microsoft knows about the bug. That bug existed in Outlook 98 and I had hoped it would be fixed in 2000 but NOT!

As far as programmatically exporting items to Access, look up Article ID: Q253794 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

      I hope this helps. angel

I’ve not tried to do this with mail but I have done this with Calendar appointments. In the Inbox (or whatever mail folder), right click on the area that shows the fields that are being displayed in the current view. Click on Field Chooser, select ALL MAIL FIELDS. You’ll notice that there are all sorts of fields you can add to your current view and one of them may actually contain the information you’re looking for. Like I mentioned, I’ve used this with appointments. I wanted to know who changed the appointments and when and I’m able to do that by including the appropriate field in the current view. (Note: You can also get to the Field Chooser information from View, Current View, Customize Current View, Fields, Select Available Fields from, and choosing ALL MAIL FIELDS). Let us know if this works!

    • in reply to: Sharing outlook folders #540207

I’ve tried using NetFolders since I can’t get the Exchange Servers administrators to give me a Public Folder. NetFolders is HORRIBLE. Subscriptions drop off and they can be difficult to get resubscribe. The folder lost information, etc., etc., etc. I also found that having users simply open the same .pst file off a network drive had it’s share of problems. In theory only one person can user a .pst file at one time and as soon as that user logged out of Outlook another user could open the .pst file. Oftentimes the next user user COULDN’T open the .pst file and would receive a message that someone else had the file open (and that wasn’t true). While NOT pretty, the only solution I found (without a public folder) was to have a generic Outlook account that we all put information into. Unfortunately that isn’t pretty but it does work. It would be nice to have administrators who let us use the tools that Microsoft provides! frown
