      Ronny,

      (The following is a repeat of an earlier broadcast..) I also have found that Word XP (2002) puts an excessive amount of overhead code in FrontPage 2000. What I have done is copy from Word to the buffer and then in FrontPage 2000 perform a Paste Special – Normal Paragraphs with line breaks (edit/paste special). This will reduce all the ‘junk’ that Word added. Note that if you have any special formatting in Word you will lose it upon a Paste Special. Anyway, play with it until you find a satisfying setting.

      In the navigation view right click on the file you wish to remove. A ‘Delete Page’ prompt will ask you ‘What do you want to do?’ Your two options are: ‘Remove page from the navigation structure’ and ‘Delete this page from the Web”. Select ‘Remove page from the navigation structure’. You page will be removed from the nav structure and you should still see it in the folders view. If you are unsure go and make a copy of the page for safekeeping and then try it. FYI – I’m using FrontPage 2002.

      Jim,

      If you have page check-in and check-out enabled, the ‘pencil and paper’ icon means that you have that page checked out. To another user on a network that icon will appear as a ‘lock’ indicating they can only get a read-only version.

      The icon with the ‘e’ indicates that it is an Internet Explorer html page.

      Hope this helps!

      Mary,

      There are some good backup software out there. I use PQ DI 7 (PowerQuest Drive Image). I have a Dell P3, 977mhz, 256 mb ram, two 80gb hard drives, running Win XP Pro. I have had no probelms with DI 7 backing up to my spare drive where I keep a month worth of backups. DI2000 does have problems with Win XP Pro so don’t go there. I do not have a network as some of the loungers do. They seem to have legitimate issues with DI 7 and a Network.

      Best Wishes,

      Wendell,

      Try Admin Tools/Internet Services Manager. Find Default web site/right click on the web you need and click on properties. Select the documents tab and add the default.aspx name at the top of the default document list and click ok. Go back to the Tools/Internet Services Manager and refresh the host site. Then go back into Frontpage and republish. Your default.aspx should publish with that as the default. Good luck.

      Big Al,

      Sorry I don’t have an answer regarding your dilema (Cowboy took care of that), but since you (and others) have helped me on DI 2002 issues I wanted to let you know that DI 7 works just fine for me. Took me 14 minutes to back up 12 gb of data with no compression. Checked the restore and it worked fine also. Thanks for all your help!

      Dave,

      I have some code here that will keep the first bookmark in one color and allows the second to be visited. I have all the paragraph spaces so that you have enough ‘real estate’ on the screen for section 2 to appear on the top of the screen.

      Hope this is what you seek!,

      LMD

      Try this:
      ========Start of test========

      Test Colored Bookmarks

      Section 1

      Section 2

      Blah, blah, blah.

      Section 1

      This is…

      Section 2

      This is…

      End

      ========End of test========

      Big Al,

      I checked PQ’s site and could not find that link to the Microsoft .Net framework 1.1 download. Could you post the link?

      Thanks,

      LMD
