O.k.-I will try to describe my problem better. I have XP Pro with a Dial-Up connection.
When I click on the shortcut on my desktop it does not work. When I go to start-network connection–the icon and heading that says dial up are gone. I have to use the wizard to do a new connection and then it works again until it disappears again and the shortcut icon quits working again. The icon on my desktop does not dissapear. My modem is not a problem so I am not doing to unplug that.
I hope everyone understand my problem better–any ideas why this is happening?

I am connected to the internet with a dial up. Then I log on to my internet dish with a LAC connection. My tech guy said we could both use the service at the same time if we use the 2 static IP numbers that he gave us. He said not to use the network wizard as this would not work. Where do I put the IP number. I tried the above idea and my LAC icon turned red and I had no connection to the dish. Have you ever heard of this type of connection?
The tech guy that we have is not very consumer friendly.

I finally figured out the problem. I had Norton 2002 still installed on my machine and a program called “Go Back” was still running. First I uninstalled Norton but was still having a few problems and went to the Microsoft XP site. I read on there about “Go Back”. I took off “Go Back” and I finished installing without a problem.

I mean the system tray. I know about programs being hidden and this is not the case. If I look in task manager, the program is there but it is not showing in the system tray and it should be.

I’m choosing save image. Drop down box says “All files”.
It is saved on desktop and looks like an icon with a folded over edge.
When I click on the icon I have to pick a program to open it.

I would like to save as a jpg. When I save now I have to pick a program to open the picture every time.
When I do a save, all it says at the drop down arrow is
“All files” instead of jpg, etc.
