Thank you for the explanation; however, it’s still a bit beyond my understanding.  I slowed down a bit in my distress and read b’s post, following the link. I had read it before, but gave up on the first page. Second page has an informative entry explaining it all, though I find myself slowly falling behind the times of some of the terminology. Seems there is no “best” answer; only a decision of how much “help” and true help I want from MS. i.e. “personalized content” vs use of Editor, etc.

      Thanks for the overview…but…

What are the options? Take it or leave it, right? Until the MSA gets to the point that we leave the Windows World… Yes, it’s “good” to know what I’m agreeing to, but in reality, I’m just along for the ride because I signed up for Windows World a long time ago.

(is that what www really means…Wide Windows World…)

    • in reply to: duplicate drivers in Win10: which to delete? #2584810

That’s helpful to consider. Driver Store Explorer does give sizes for drivers, so I can see the Human Interface Devices do indeed take up little space. It also has “Select Old Driver(s)” button–interesting, because I was wondering how to tell which are considered “old.” It selected 40 drivers at 392 MB. Some of them are from TeamViewer, which I uninstalled a while ago (but the inf files remain…). I assume they are safe to delete? As for the others… better let them be, I suppose.

Attached is a screen shot of some of those “old drivers…” Do I just hit delete? Or some kind of uninstall?

Thank you. That was my first thought, but wanted to check with those more experienced. My system is not having problems; since “it ain’t broke, I won’t fix it!”

Thanks, Paul. I understand it “should,” but as seen from my screen shot, it doesn’t.

I will try your update via scheduler. How do I know it has been successful? Is it one of those “set it and leave it?”

When I postpone my Windows update (Win 10 Home), I don’t get any notifications, not even for Defender. How do you get those notifications?

    • in reply to: Microsoft 365 Copilot announced #2547021

My first thought is: does that mean the Copilot is also capturing everything I do in MS 365? The blog says “the user is in control…” but does that mean I can avoid it being installed in the first place? “control” becomes a mythical desire…

I’ve used Thunderbird for a number of years now, and haven’t looked back. The latest version 3 seems to load faster (I’m using the portable version) than ever!
