Read my previous comment. Query view shows all the characters on the first line of text. You have to take action to see the next line(s), but they are there.

I’m not clear on what the problem is. A query of a memo field can show all the field. You can show it in a form or just in query form. If you do have line feeds and carriage returns, you will have to position to the end of the apparent display and press the right-arrow key to see the next line (this is when looking at the query itself).

I was able to export a query with well more than 255 characters as long as I kept it as comma delimited. I have Access 2007 if that matters (I think not). Try changing the options when you export it.

Have you tried using =Sum(TaskTime) in the report footer?

I have already converted that database into Access 2000 format using Access 2003. Why isn’t this a way to go?

She currently has only Access 2010 and that was only a sample database you converted. She can’t import from the Access 2 database into the 2000 database using Access 2010.

If it were me having this problem, I’d either get one myself or find someone with an older version of Access and convert the mdb file to 2000 or later. Then use that version to link to.

With Access 2007, I was unable to open the Sample Access 2.0 .mdb file, but was able to link to the tables and edit it just fine. I would expect the same behavior with 2010, but don’t yet have that version.

I’m wondering if it is corrupted. I think (anybody can chime in here and correct me) that any mdb file that you could open with Access 2002 you can open with 2010.

If the file is not too large and does not have any sensitive data, you could zip it and attach so some of us could take a look.

And to add to John’s reply, I just linked to an Access 97 mdb file with Access 2007.

[Time Out] is date/time. “06:00” is a string. That is why you get the error message.

Don’t know if this will help, but why use a derived control when you can use the direct control? Try using [cbo42].[Column](1) in your expression rather than Me.txt_orderinfo.

I just ran this with Access 2007 (and Outlook 2007) with WendellB’s modification. It ran just fine.

I do have a question though. How can I send an Outlook email with preview (that is, don’t send it, but just prepare the email)? I’d like to test sending to many recipients w/o actually sending.
