I have a table that has a number code as one of its fields. Since the number codes were in another table, I used the lookup wizard to make it a lookup field. Then I discovered that all the codes I needed were not in the first table, and some had to be input. THAT does not work. I wanted to change the field back to a plain number format, but couldn’t figure out how.

Well, your right (of course). The Force new Page is on the Report Header, and it says Before this section. So — now I’m really confused confused
The nearly blank pages are printing with the Page Header. There is a page break in the detail section after the script. This forces the subreport to a new page. This looks like it should be so simple.

Oh this is so close. I put the Force new page in the Page header section of the main report. Now I am getting a blank page with just the report header before each new department. I can make this work. If there is some way to eliminate the blank pages, I would truly appreciate learning it.
Thank you for your patience with a beginner. I am learning so much. thankyou

Well, that semi-worked. Now, rather than have the list (from the subreport) start on the same page as the letter, it starts on a second page. I like that better. This solves most of the problem. There are two lists that are still bleeding over to the first page of the next department. If I put the page break at the top of the report, I just get a blank page. Where do I find the Force new page property? I don’t see that anywhere. shrug

Thanks so much for your help.

Thank you Hans. I built a query for just the administrators and – success! bullseye
The next question is about the filter — but that will be tomorrow. I’m goin’ home.
      Thanks again

Well I got there! bananas I finally just copied the text from rptSamp00 directly into my module. I still don’t see a difference, but it must be there. That solved the coding error, but my form kept asking for parameters. TAG (of course you know this.)
I have to say that I’m not that impressed with Microsofts lessons, but you guys ROCK!!
Thanks so much for your help. Now to try to put one of these forms in my actual database. Wish me luck.
