Yes several times.

AskWoody LoungerAugust 6, 2016 at 7:24 pm in reply to: 2.5 Ghz band is suddenly slow with Windows 10, 5 Ghz is fast #1573611It would seem that the problem has very little to do with the router since another laptop 6 inches away connects fine at 50 Mbps, the problem laptop connects at less than 1 Mbps.

AskWoody LoungerAugust 6, 2016 at 7:04 pm in reply to: 2.5 Ghz band is suddenly slow with Windows 10, 5 Ghz is fast #1573607I tried copying several large files and canceled as it was taking too long, more than 5 minutes doing nothing. Copying files from my good laptop to another laptop was fine, so the problem is with the laptop and not the router or network.

AskWoody LoungerNovember 22, 2013 at 8:41 pm in reply to: Network adapter settings not saved after changing #1424615You are absolutely correct, maybe this was something in a recent Microsoft update? I uninstalled and reinstalled the Ethernet adapter and that did not help either.

AskWoody LoungerNovember 22, 2013 at 5:56 pm in reply to: Network adapter settings not saved after changing #1424596Thanks Joe, this is a work environment but there are currently no policies restricting or preventing changes to these settings. The laptop is not part of a domain and the account is local, not a domain account.

AskWoody LoungerMay 3, 2012 at 3:32 pm in reply to: Excel 2007, Print preview crash when mouse scroll wheel is turned #1331248Mouse is not plugged into a hub.
This issue has been going on for maybe a month or more, so a system restore would not be prudent.

AskWoody LoungerMay 2, 2012 at 5:33 pm in reply to: Excel 2007, Print preview crash when mouse scroll wheel is turned #1331112Yes, the mouse seems to work everywhere else in Excel and in all other applications outside Excel.
Since this problem is present with multiple mice, my guess is that the problem is related to Office and specifically Excel.

AskWoody LoungerMay 2, 2012 at 12:10 pm in reply to: Excel 2007, Print preview crash when mouse scroll wheel is turned #1331027The mouse works on other PC’s but I dont have another PC with the exact same combination of Win 7 / Excel 2007 etc. As I mentioned in my original post, I have also tried replacing the logitec mouse on my system with a microsoft mouse and that did not help either. All service packsm, windows updates etc have been applied. Thanks.

AskWoody LoungerMay 2, 2012 at 10:42 am in reply to: Excel 2007, Print preview crash when mouse scroll wheel is turned #1331016Yes the problem occurs regardless of the type or amount of data, it happens even if the entire contents of the sheet are just one character or if the worksheet contains multiple pages.

1. Yes the network profile is set to “Work”
2. I turned off 128 bit encryption, set it to 40 bit in the file sharing setting, still did not help.
3. I am not trying to join the domain, which the home edition cannot do. I am trying to access a share on the file server, which a dozen other windows 7 home premium and windows xp home editions can access without any problemTypically when a new machine or new user tries to access the server, they get a login prompt.
Which this machine when I click on start and in the the Search programs and files box type server, I get not found, check spelling error.
If on the other hand I type 192.168.0.4, I get the login box.
So there is a DNS type name translation problem going on. Hope this helps.

AskWoody LoungerYahoo is the only major web email that does not offer Pop3 or IMAP services for their free account. They have a Yahoo Plus service that does Pop3, but it costs $19.99 per year. Yes OE will not work with Win 7.
Thanks.
