It is a 2.0 4 port POWERED hub. It has only 1 or 2 items plugged in on a regular basis. I use the other two occasionally when I connect my media card reader, my Palm, or my USB flash drive. However, these items are never plugged in on continual basis.

Doesn’t seem to be an adapter or router problem, because they both work elsewhere. Someone suggested I install a new USB card. Perhaps the USB connection in the machine is bad. It is very funny that both times (With 2 different adapters) that the wireless connection existed for a short time after initial install, and then just disconnected itself. It then would not allow me to make the connection again. The device manager shows the hardware device is connected, but for some reason it is not recognizing the network.

Yes, I have checked all of the device connections. In fact, they were all just reinstalled recently because of other issues with my machine. I will try turning them off one by one to see if that helps. I do have a hub, but not all of the USB devices are connected to the hub, but are connected directly to the machine.

I am always connected to the internet. The only messenger program that I run is AIM, but I have been running it for years. Windows Messenger opens up whenever I open Outlook even though I tried to follow the instructions in the Lounge to get rid of it. The only firewall I have is that my internet runs through a Linksys router.

Nope, I don’t think it is a positioning problem. I really do believe that there is some conflict in the pc itself that no one can determine. It is in the same room where another connected pc works fine. (small bedroom) It was in another room further from the base station before, so it was moved. That isn’t the issue. It worked initially, although with a weak signal, but then something in the pc or its software caused the signal to no longer be recognized although the hardware was working fine.

Hi gang. Well, everything has been going OK with my reloaded system until I hooked up my printers again. I started getting the error again as described in post 357883. Well, after searching again, I found out from the Expert’s Exchange website (and then from the Black Viper website), that this is an error that happens because of Windows Image Acquistion and when disabled, the error goes away. Anyway, I did disable it, and now everything seems to be working fine, and I am not getting the svchost.exe error any longer. Printers and scanners work fine. Does anyone know why this is a problem……..? Is it a bug?

So far. Haven’t hooked up any USB devices yet, so still have a ways to go, but so far so good. Keep your fingers crossed! crossfingers Thanks again!
