Rory — Would it matter if the choices in the rowsource box were typed in rather than pulling from another table? When I switch to SQL view the word SELECT; there by default. I am not sure what the syntax should be in there when I paste the info from the rowsource in there (which is “MR.”;”MRS.”;”MS.”) as an example. It seemed that no matter where I paste it, I get some sort of error about syntax or arguments required.

Thanks for the suggestion. How do I create a query based on the rowsource?

Charlotte – the database appears to have been secured at some point, and the person that secured it is no longer with the company. We are about to try exporting into a new database, but I just wanted to confirm – is there a way to get around the secure settings and reset them?

I will have to ask them if they are logging on to the database. If that’s the case, they have no idea what the administrator database password would be, that person has left the company.

Also, they are in fact trying to insert records directly into a table, they are not using a form to try to insert the data.

The product codes should match, but each list may not have the exact same product codes. I’m not interested in knowing what the monetary difference is between the two, but simply come up with a list that shows which Product Codes have a discrepancy. I suppose then I would want to know the product code, and then have the two different prices from the two different prices next to it, if that’s possible.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping it would be simple, which it was. I wasn’t thinking of paste special to do the calculation, but now I won’t forget that! Thanks again.

Rory – I got it to work using the Event Procedure as well showing just the time. However, can I have it display the current date and time on that same line? Or would it be easier to put it in two different controls? I just can’t seem to get the Clock.Caption=Format (Time, “hh:mm:ss AM/PM”) in the right syntax to get it to also display the date. Thanks!

Thank you so much. That explains it well.

I don’t want to use the Auto Summarize feature and have the keywords filled into the document properties that way, I want to use File > Properties, and click in the keywords field and type them in manually. If I did it that way, do you think the words would still be separated by spaces if done that way?

You didn’t give me enough time to get it in there! It should be there now.

    • in reply to: Looking up a date from another table (Access 2000 Sr-1) #539622

I’m working on a database that keeps track of donations. What I’m trying to do is add a field to a form (or table if it’s necessary), that will look at an organization name and be able to pull the date and amount that was donation to that same organization the year before. So, if I was entering an amount that was donated in 2000 in the 2000 table/form, I also want to be able to see what was donated to that same organization last year.

I’m pretty sure it can be done, but I just cannot remember how. I’m also wondering if I need to alter the structure of the database to allow this to happen better. Attached is a copy of the db so far (zipped file, without any relationships).

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

I tried the relationship thing, but it wasn’t working the way I thought it was. I tried adding the database again to the post (I know I did it the first time!), and I just got an internal server error, to try again later. Once I put the database back in the post, if you have a chance to look at it, that would be great. Thanks!

      Legare,

That worked, I just needed to play with it a bit more, I think I was not including the right number of parenthesis, and that was throwing the formula off.

      Thanks for the help!

That did it! I just wasn’t sure if you could add the formatting in the expression, but now I know that you can. Thanks!!
