AskWoody LoungerThanks for the suggestions.
Creating a shotcut from the db file didn’t work.
The link in Wendell’s post gave me the info I needed. Thanks again.

AskWoody LoungerMarch 20, 2011 at 9:00 am in reply to: Looking for email program other than Billy Gates’ stuff #1272698Thunderbird.
There is lots of help on the Mozilla forums here and here[/url] and, of course, here in the Lounge.
Don’t forget to check out the add-ons. If you want/need the calendar features, get the Lightning extension. If opening web links within Thunderbird sounds like it might work for you, try ThunderBrowse.
Many more (732) to choose from here.Cheers

AskWoody LoungerThe switch works to the extent that it will switch the DT monitor from the DT to the LT and back.
Neither Input Director nor Actual Multiple Monitors will work when the switch is attached, but do work perfectly when I manually switch the cables.
I’m thinking that the switch is not “straight through” but has some circuitry between the ports that is interfering.Cheers

AskWoody LoungerI have used Thunderbird (download from Mozilla.org) for years at home and Outlook at the office.
I much prefer Thunderbird.
I would suggest the Lightning and Thunder Browse add-ons (and any others that you might find interesting to try).Cheers

AskWoody LoungerPerhaps Sounds – Custom “Windows Logon” that Speaks What You Like – Windows 7 Forums might be of interest, or Startup Sound – Change in Windows 7 – Windows 7 Forums.

AskWoody LoungerHi Byron
I found that too and tried it.
I quickly became discouraged at the apparent complexity as it seems I would have to design a complete screen just to move the picture and I couldn’t readily understand how to go about doing it.I believe what I found originally involved a dll hack but I don’t remember enough to try it.
Cheers

AskWoody LoungerCan’t boot.
Can’t end the process and the computer won’t turn off. That is, I can turn off the power button but when I turn back on the process is still running, no boot sequence.
C-A-D doesn’t work.
Might try removing the battery.Haven’t tried contacting Acronis Support yet.
I might try that tonight or tomorrow from home but, based on forums I’ve checked, I don’t hold much hope of success from their support.Cheers

AskWoody LoungerI installed TI about a month ago and created a disk image on an external drive but I don’t recall scheduling a backup (might have though, just don’t remember).
My problem is though, how do I escape from it?
Turning the computer off doesn’t work. When I turn it back on the process just continues. I can’t (don’t know how) to escape from the process so that I can reboot and get control back.
The keyboard and mouse both appear to be disabled.Cheers

AskWoody LoungerThanks for your reply RG.
One purchase of SyncBackSE includes 5 licenses, hence my question re TI.
If speed becomes a problem I should be able to schedule backups at night or during the day when I’m at the office.
Cheers

AskWoody LoungerThanks. That worked for the cookies.
Also, the French keyboard problem has been solved by selecting Tools>Options>Languages>English/United States then restarting Firefox.
How it got changed beats me, but it works OK now.Cheers

AskWoody LoungerThe French keyboard problem only seems to be occuring in Firefox, in any input including the search bar, not just this website.
Any ideas on this oneÉ
Cheers
