I did apply that change and could bring it up but if I tried to do anything in Money, it freezes and I have to shut down the whole computer to get it off.

When I bring up IE, I get the message that it is not working and has to shut down.

I changed the value to 0 and it still didn’t work. It was also suggested to download a patched dll which I did and put in the core part. I did make a registry backup before I did that but I don’t know how to reinstall that backup. I also renamed the old mnyob99.dll to oldmnyob99.dll.

I contacted Dell support again and they downloaded windows 10 on my computer. It is up and running just fine. Thanks to all who responded.

I have a Dell 8.1 and also did not get the update icon. I ran the script which seemed to go just fine, but nothing happened. I have all updates mentioned in this thread. I found nothing in the Task Scheduler pertaining to GWX but do have them in the folder under system 32. Is there something else I can do?

I use the windows file transfer for my back up to an external hard drive. I also have a drive image on the external drive. Can I just plug in the hard drive to the new computer and then go to backup file transfer and transfer the data file to the new computer?

I just installed 14 windows updates. Maybe one of those will help. Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled FF several times. I am on the beta version 30.0. contemplated going back to the non beta one. I only get the messages when I am on facebook. Never on any other web page. I checked my drivers for updates also as was recommended in one of the articles.

Hi Joe, thank you for your reply. I don’t use IE, so I really don’t know. I use firefox and chrome. I have never gotten this error message while on facebook on chrome. I also unchecked the hardware accelerator in firefox and adobe flash, but it didn’t help.

I have done all of the above and in the correct order several times. It lasts for a time and then periodically they reappear in some scan. Vicious little devils!!

Hi. I am using Revo free version so I guess I am in deep trouble. The shortcuts still open the programs: HP supplies, HP scan dr. and they do work. HOSTS-anti-PUP/Adwares is in the program file but will do nothing when you click on it. I keep finding Pokki downloader, conduit and some saver program which I forgot the name of already since I just got rid of it again for the 7th time with adware cleaner. I have rebooted many many times, searched for the programs in Glary Utilities, JV tools and on the computer itself. I wish I had uninstalled them with one of the other programs, but I love Revo and it has always worked for me before. I am so new to windows 8.1.
