Before you install Windows Insider Preview

I have had Microsoft support on an Insider Build in the past. Try
Settings > Update and security > Get Help (In the upper right corner) and enter your problem. Then follow the prompts.

Me either. Microsoft must be getting really close to locking down for General Availability (GA)

That’s why the last couple of builds no longer have a watermark on the desktop and no new features to speak of.

Yesyerday, the Intuit account login window popped up when I tried to do a transaction download. When I supplied the right User ID/Password, it responded with:
“Uh Oh, something went wrong at our end” and I was unable to download any transactions. Looks like they fixed it today.

I’m running Quicken 2016 and I see the same issue. As you said, it’s annoying although I only see it around once a month.

But if you kill the failin boot by holding down the power button, the next boot won’t use the hibernate file and should succeed.

Jean, I have seen the same problem on my desktop and have never found a solution.

Try useing Backup Image Explorer as Rick suggested although I suspect the image is corrupted.

Try right clicking on the .pdb file and see if you get a mount option.

Jean, read further down in the article for a procedure to use the Media Creation tool to upgrade an existing Windows 8.1 installation to Windows 10. You shouldn’t need any key if you do an upgrade install.

What thermostat is it? The Nest can be reached remotely either through the Nest smartphone app or via Nest.com. All you need is the nest account user id and password. Other smart thermostats will have similar options.
