      DaveA,
Hello, and thank you for your response. I dont know what a “COM” compression is or does. Let me re-phrase my question. How do you “Un-Zip”
a file or program, to look at, or run? Such as some of the files on “recovery disks”, and other “files” in the operating system itself, or are there any
programs that do this? Regards Plain Fred.

      Joe,StuartR, Bob,
Thanks for all the clues and tips. This story has a happy ending. (for now) After exploring the websites with out much success i tried the “Recovery
Manager” route. Under “Advanced Options” i ran “software program re-installation” / Hardware Diagnostic Tools. This Worked. When i looked back to
the error path, the “Java.dll was where it should be. PC Doctor 5 is now working again. Regards to All Plain Fred

      StuartR, hello
Thanks for the tip, i will check it out and post back. I have also found a website “Lenvo Support & downloads PC doctor for Windows”
There seems to be many programs with “PC doctor” in the name, but they are not the “hardware diagnostic tool”that came with my PC.
      Regards Plain Fred

      Bob, Hello
“PC-Doctor 5” came with the computer(Pc Help&Tools) A utility to check hardware and software,What version driver is running etc.
Has nothing to do with spyware (as far as i know) Used it in the past to check what “NVIDA Driver that was installed etc.to check for possible
updates. Dont think that it has anything to do with the PC-Doctor you have mentioned. Regards Plain Fred

Yes i have the latest “Java v6 update 3” However, when i follow the error path there is no “java.dll”? The only “java .dll” is in a different folder,

    • in reply to: stack overflow error (Vista Home Premium) #1085416

      Joe,
Hello again im sorry that i could not respond sooner, had to do a “Recovery”, and was off line trying to get everything back. The error message
froze everything.Had to pull the plug …That didnt go to well. while i was reinstalling everything i remembered the last program i had installed before
the error message started was Norton 360 add on pack.Spam filter, ad blocker , etc. there are many “advanced” choices to make . None of wich i have any clue as to what some of them mean.Did the best i could . Shortly after things started going south.Print icons gone replaced with “X” boxes etc.Since the”Recovery ” and not reinstalling “add on pack” everything seems to be back to normal…(for now) and havent seen “stack overflow”since.IM not quite sure ,this was the problem or something else was “repaired” during the recovery.? Any way thanks for all your help ..Plain Fred
