You could use a simple login screen that runs at startup and must have the correct code in the textbox before anything else opens.
Is this what you need or am I up the wrong tree?

Thanks for solving my problem, but how does this work/not work? All very strange!!

This is how I normally run telnet.

When I run that now the window appears for a second and then bombs out leaving nothing, which isn’t normal.

Any ideas?
