Next time, you might try REVO Uninstaller. It actively scans the registry for associated items for applications.

And it’s FREEWARE!

David,

I’ve tried various methods to fix the problem, but everything I’ve seen indicates using the [SHIFT]+[RETURN] method.
Even Microsoft recommends it: Fixing Double Spaced Signatures

It’s due to Microsoft’s incredibly inane and proprietary styles in the HTML they use behind the scenes, thanks to their incorporation
of Word as the HTML rendering engine inside of Outlook instead of Internet Explorer’s HTML engine. (A step backward to many.)

If you want to see what your signature looks like in Microsoftese, take a look at your HTML signature
file in NOTEPAD. It can be located at:

C:Documents and Settings{Your User ID}Application DataMicrosoftSignatures

It’s certainly an eye opener.

When creating your signature, instead of using a [RETURN] at the end of each line,
use [SHIFT-RETURN] instead. This will the the rendering engine in Outlook (and Word)
to single space the lines in your signature.

It’s always a good idea to make sure that all applications are closed when updating Office (or any other application for that matter.)

I set Automatic Updates to allow them to download and then notify me that they were ready. That allows me to make sure everything
is closed before initiating the update. Also, by choosing Custom install, I can see what’s actually being installed and disallow anything
that I really don’t want (despite Microsoft’s assertion that I really do need it!)

Also, Outlook 2007 is an odd duck. I’ve found that by closing all your applications, then searching for and deleting any files starting with
~$ in folder: C:Documents and Settings{Your User ID}Application DataMicrosoftTemplates often resolves problems. With Outlook
2007, Microsoft introduced all the problems of Word by using Word’s HTML rendering engine and also duplicating Word’s trouble-prone
Normal.dotm” template environment, named appropriately: NormalEmail.dotm. Deleting this file won’t hurt anything either, as just as it
occurs with Word, Outlook will rebuild this file if it doesn’t exist. (Note – any formatting changes will be lost as deleting this file will be,
in essence, restoring your template to the same state as a fresh install.)

And also despite Microsoft’s assurances that the ~$ files are merely “lock” files, deleting them often makes a difference as to how the
application acts.

It doesn’t hurt to clean out the C:Documents and Settings{Your User ID}Local SettingsTemp folder on occasion and clearing out
the files in the C:WINDOWSTemp folder as well.

Would this be the same as using the CTRL+SHIFT+F shortcut key combination?
(It’s been a while since I used Outlook 2000.)

• in reply to: Meeting follow up to only those accepted #1186602

My apologies if this has been answered before – I am not finding it.

If a person creates a meeting with, say, 60 attendees; and (for example) gets replies back (on tracking) that 30 have accepted the meeting, and 30 declined — is there a way to send a follow-up email or update to ONLY those who accepted? (without manually writing down each name and opening a new message, etc.) This comes into play when wanting to send out needed documentation for the meeting, or follow-up documentation after the meeting.

Thanks
Pribb

You can click on the TRACKING option (MEETING tab | SHOW group | TRACKING) and un-check the names of the non-respondents.
This will exclude the un-checked people from being classified as “attendees”.
Then click on MESSAGE TO ATTENDEES option. This will allow you to send a message only to those checked individuals.
Once you are done, simply re-check the boxes if desired.

Not very elegant, but it beats picking the names/addresses manually.
