AskWoody LoungerClick on one of the items and drag it up or down with the mouse to where ever on the menu you want it to go.
Alternatively, right click the mouse and the menu will show an item called “Sort by Name”.

AskWoody LoungerIs it possible that the user is in the habit of hitting Ctrl-S to regularly save the document, or Ctrl-A to select all of the document, but is hitting Ctrl-P instead? (Unlikely, as P is at the other end of the keyboard and the Print Dialog box intervenes – but just a thought).

AskWoody LoungerIt’s a bit time-consuming. but the grammar checker can find single spaces at the end of sentences and replace with a double space on an instance by instance basis. Look under Tools>Options>Spelling and Grammar, then “Writing Style” and check “Spaces beteen Sentences”.

AskWoody LoungerGo to Control Panel and see if you have an item called Disk Detector. If so, open it and click on Advanced. Find the box called Spin Down in which you can set the time the CD/DVD will spin before stopping. This may solve your problem.

AskWoody LoungerI agree with Phil. I don’t think that OSA does anything useful these days – it was probably of value in the olden days when computers were slower and needed all the help they could get.

AskWoody LoungerOk, Charlotte, I think I understand. I have been having come problems with my Userpic and tried to change it to something else this afternoon. On my screen, however, I still see my old Userpic, not the new one.
Interesting that apparently you can see the new one and I can’t.
Where the new one came from I don’t know – I found it in a list of graphics somewhere – but it sure looks like your Dust Puppy.

AskWoody LoungerHi Charlotte,
Thanks, but what’s a “Dust Puppy”? Am I missing something here?

AskWoody LoungerThe OSA9.exe file does the following:
* Initializes Automation
* Initializes some of the common fonts installed by Office 2000
* Handles certain commands (New Office Document, Find Fast, Open Office Document, Help, and Screen Saver) on the Start menu and on the Office Shortcut Bar
* Displays Microsoft Outlook notifications when the Office Assistant is available .

AskWoody LoungerDo you mean the Euro symbol is shown but you can’t select it, or is the symbol not shown at all?
For what it’s worth: on our machines running Win98 Second Edition, the symbol can be selected from Regional settings.
Are you running Second Edition?
