Do you get the same problem with just one machine plugged into the monitor and have you checked the cables ?

It would be a hell of a coincidence for both machines video cards to be playing up.

I ended up getting a much wanted larger monitor and hooked it up via the KMS switch and replaced the video cable with the new one that came with the monitor and all is well. I am assuming it was the cable and at this point don’t mind having gotten the new monitor. Great price and larger display.

I have been a long time user of Pinnacle Studio and I am up to version 17. The most current version is 19.5. Studio comes in 3 viersions with the cheapest going for $59 all the way up to the Ultimate version costing $130. The higher priced versions usually come with more effects packages but all three versions now offer multi-camera editing for at least 2 cameras from the cheaper version all the way up to 6 cameras with the highest priced version.

I have found this product to be very intiutive with a variety of videos on Youtube explaining the finer details if you run into a problem. You can burn the finished product directly to DVD or you can render it to a folder for later burning. You can also export the final product into a number of video formats.

Just my opinion on this product.

Thank you to Star Lounger and Joe for the very concise answer. I had tried another boot manager program(don’t remember which) and it didn’t seem to find my 2 different operating systems. EasyBCD was straight forward and identified both entries and I was able to remove the Win7 entry, checked off the item to forgo the boot manager and all is running as I wanted.

Thank you for the insight. I am going to need some guidance with a very similar situation. My primary home built computer again has 2 identicle hard drives and Windows XP is on the C drive. I installed Windows 7 on Drive D. I have on order, a new kit that I am going to build and dedicate it entirely to Windows 7. Once I get it up and running, I will want to remove the Windows 7 from Drive D. I suspect I will encounter the same situation as with my older computer as described in the original post. Could someone outline a course of action so that I can do the following:

      1. Remove Windows 7 from the secondary drive D. ( I would normally just format that drive and have a spare drive for that machine)
      2. Get rid of the dual boot screen that now comes up with both operating systems showing
      3. Have a computer that boots up with no dual boot screen and not have to do a repair installation of Windows XP on the C: drive.

Thanks for any help with my project.

I installed EasyBCD and followed it once it was loaded and it recognized the Earlier version of Windows (which was the one I want to keep) as well as the Windows 7 system. I removed the Windows 7 boot option and selected Windows XP as the default operating system and save the setup. Now when I reboot, I get the dualboot screen but it only shows the Windows 7 and since it has been deleted via the format of that hard drive, I can’t get into XP now. I have booted from the XP disk and ran the recovery console and tried the fixmbr but it still comes up with the boot menue with only Windows 7 listed. Any ideas?

I tried the Wizmo and it did the same thing. I have tried all afternoon to update my Asus motherboard bios and called it quits. Their bios update program doesn’t seem to work for anyone and I guess I will just have to live with my problem.

Thanks to all that have tried to help me,

I feel like all my device drivers are up to date but my BIOS isn’t and I wondered if that might be the problem. Windows 7 has been updated. I am attempting to resart vial the Start Orb Restart button.
