try your namemanger and when select the names in the new workbook, can load the namemanager, it says “no name in active workbook” , any idea?

I had tried both, the minimun size I could get is 2.5M. and by creating new workbook and copy paste value, I could reduce the size to 500k. Only problem is that I need to move my “names(created by insert, name, define)” to the new one easily.

I am new on user defined fuction. When I copy and save your code into the module, I do not know how to retrive it to edit.

I am still struggling with this formula.
1) when I return to the unfiler mode the value will change. I tried to copy and pastspecial value only in filter mode, It won’t work.
2) I want to insert a name for that formula (something like Xfill=subtotal(3,a2:$a$2) and I sometimes need to put this starting from c10 or some other cell, then the formula will not work right. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

To get around my problem, in my vba, I put the =today() in b5,copy b5, and pastespecial only value to b5
and use the code below. After this code, clear the b5. In this way, I can permanently save the created date in my footer, no matter I will or not save the file later.
any other idea?

ActiveSheet.PageSetup.Leftfooter = _
Format(Worksheets(“Sheet2”).Range(“B5”).Value)
