The first file is how it looks. The second file is how I want it to look, with an annotation of how many unread items there are in each group.

Ted, I went to conexant.com and did a search for “conexant high definition smartaudio 221” (is that even the model of my soundcard??), which got me to http://conexant.com/s/sresults.jsp, but neither of those links says anything about my soundcard. Any other suggestions?

Yes, I FINALLY figured that out after days of racking my brain.

      I figured out the problem!

The Mode of hte Image was CMYK. IE can’t display that. I had to convert the Mode to RGB. Then it worked.

I don ‘t understand; I can see http://tellerbooks.com/bornoflove/Includes/Maps/Maison_du_Liban_3.jpg perfectly fine but http://tellerbooks.com/bornoflove/Includes/Maps/Maison_du_Liban_4.jpg gives me a red X, both in Firefox 3.6 and in IE 8.0, and the only difference I know of between the two images is that the latter is sepia tinted and the former black and white.

I should have mentioned I have Outlook 2003.

I went to the Inbox properties / Administration / Initiatial view on folder / Group by from, but I still can’t see how many unread items are in each group. In fact, that didn’t even change anything that I can perceive.

I then went to the General tab of the Properties dialogue, and saw that “Show number of unread items” was checked (“Show total number of items” was not). However, this does not get the total of unread items to display above each group (e.g, 10 unread items today; 3 unread yesterday; 2 unread Wednesday; 4 unread last week). Rather, I think that just gets the total number of unread items to be displayed next to the Inbox folder in the panel on the left.

The driver version is 4.36.7.60; the driver date is 3/6/2008. Is this the latest version?

      Stephane: I don’t have the 1904 date-system checked.

Sdccaper: I’m not sure if its Excel, Windows, or the machine. I will try to see if I can post a spreadsheet that has similar activity.

Malcolm: that doesn’t work for me in Excel 2003. It just highlights all of the rows up to the row that I want as a destination row.

Stephane: that causes the row that I cut to be cut, leaving a row of empty cells, and then replaces the contents of the row above which I want to paste, causing that row to lose its data, rather than shifting everythign down one row.

      Byron,

Thank you so much! You figured it out! I changed it to RGB mode and now I can add all the text I want with no problem! Thank you!

I couldn’t find the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 driver on Conexant’s web site.

I found it on http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-56160-1&lc=en&cc=us&product=3550028&os=2093&dlc=en&lang=en for the HP Pavilion laptop (my laptop) and compatible with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit (my OS), but since the release date is in 2007 and I got my laptop in 2008, it doesn’t seem like it will be very helpful, don’t you think?

Is there a way to do it so that Excel will count all of the cells in a given column that have any number written therein?

Assuming Vista Media Center is the saem as Windows Media Center, I played the music on it and it did sound better at first, but after 10-15 minutes, that static-like sound returned, but less severe than it does in Windows Media Player.

So what should I do? Start with laptop manufactuer, soundcard manufacturer, or install Vista codex packages?
