October 13, 2009 at 8:43 am in reply to: Disable short cut keys via .NET code #1181110

If you are doing this in an add-in, then:

      Code:
      Me.Application.OnKey("^{s}", "") ' Ctrl+S Save

(note: your code was actually re-enabling the shortcut!)

Thank you Rory. Yea I did figure-out on my own that my sample code was enabling rather than disabling. I just had a blind spot about the need for it being inside () instead of quotes. The code compiled without error and no exceptions were thrown and I am using that as my excuse for being so blind .

      Thank you

Thank you Pieterse and Hans for confirming what I thought it was. Some in y department were thinking that sections of VBA code in a file can be signed while others sections are not.

      October 1, 2008 at 3:18 am in reply to: Another Menu ID problem (2000 – 2007) #1127614

Thank you Pieterse that solved the problem!! For Word I have to do the same except use “menu bar” only as the index for CommandBars. I looked at various books on Excel programming and none of them mention or mention little about development with International use in mind.

      September 27, 2008 at 4:44 pm in reply to: FindControl not working (Excel 2000 – 2007) #1127204

Thank you Hans. The enable was a typo. Based on your reply I see now I can also use ThisWorkbook.Application.CommandBars.FindControl(ID:=30095).Enabled = True . Why the need for the application level since FindControl exists at just the TisWorkbook level?

      As always Hans thank you!!

Ok I am slow but I figured it out

ThisDocument.CommandBars.FindControl(Id:=30002).Enabled = False Actually Hans answered a similar question I had posted on this subject but I am slow about connecting things as well as having a bad memory Thank you again Hans!!

May 27, 2008 at 6:11 pm in reply to: Menu IDs problem with foreign versions (2000 – 2007) #1110527

As I understand it, using menu names like “Application.CommandBars(“File”).Controls(“Send To”)” should work in a foreign language version as well even if the menu itme “File”, “Send To” do not have the same spelling.

Thank you Hans. Isn’t there a list of all of these IDs shjowing their Microsoft reserved Paramaters for these? I know I have seen something like that but can’t find it.

Thank you Pieterse. Trying to create a Range object from knowing the range name is proving to be a problem. From the range object I will hide the row or rows the named range is on.

Thank you Hans. I have a mental block on the collections in Office for some reason. When I see the word “names” I think it will return an array of names rather than think in terms of collection of Names objects. Thank you again. I also think in terms of zero base.
