      The Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature scales are relative temperature scales and are both relative to the freezing and boiling points of water.

      If however we look 0 degrees Kelvin when all motion in matter stops or Absolute Zero so to answer the original question and assume that your announcer was talking in celcius
      (mentioning a temperature of zero) we know the following equaition:
      Kelvin = Centigrade + 273.15

      We know now that O C = 273.15 K therefore the temperature tomorrow is 136.757 K or -136.757 C

      I am a lecturer at a College in London, England and from my experience the best way to learn web skills is to go on a short course at a local college or adult education centre. In a short time we can normally a student who knows nothing up to building linked pages with cascading style sheets.

      So, depending on your learning style I would also complement your learning with the excellent books listed above and a short, tutor-led course. I promise you , you will reap the benefits… just my 2 cents worth

      Many moons ago, when this site was called Woody’s Lounge members were welcomed to post links like that one as they served a very useful purpose and highlight some excellent sites.

      There was one forum in Woody’s that was “Software – Finds and Wants” that was a veritable gold mine of freeware and shareware.

      I welcome such offerings, thanks Tim

      Hi Leesha

      It is a difficult one as you need to get your site opened up to all search engine spiders so that they can index your site properly. You can start by getting a robots.txt file set up in the root folder.

      Next is to get the website more coverage, the hit rates to my blog doubled over night by having links set in Twitter.

      I just got a giggle from the image of running to Yakety Sax. As my FIL is/was a sax player – this has been often played in our house.

      I don’t really wear an Ipod whilst running, personally I find them quite dangerous as you can’t hear traffic or other people around you. I can’t stand it when people turn up for a club night for a run and then put on an Ipod…gone all conservation!

      Last year I entered a 6 hour trail race (run as far as you can in the time) and thought that as it was going to be circuits it would be boring so put on my Ipod but got the play order wrong play order and instead of a nice placid opera I hadput this on. I went blatting off at some ridiculous pace that had me panting for breath…not what you want in a race of this type.

      BTW Iron Maiden and Opera can be on the same play list

      I ran in excess of 2000 miles last year, it took me to places I would have never reached normally, I have seen and heard wildlife and stumbled upon beautiful scenery only miles from my door. Traced routes of ancient Roman roads by map and compass, yesterday I watched the moon hovering in cloud and at the same time saw the sun rise over a hard frosted landscape. I have been invited into a church by the vicar and offered a cup of tea and eaten sweet cox’s apples straight from the branch as I ran by and other days run waist deep in water to reach the other side to continue, ran in thunder, lightning, sun, rain, snow and have been hailed upon whose size was that of broad beans.

      I have run a 30 mile race competitively but sat down at the end to a hearty meal and drank beer with my trail rivals.

      In all that time I have never grumbled (well only a little) learnt things I never knew about myself but in all that time I have always had a smile within me.

      What is on my MP3 player you ask? Nothing, absolutely nothing there is just too many things to see and do when running.

      A quick check of the Microsoft Windows 7 EULA suggests:

      If, after a validation check, the software is found to be counterfeit, improperly licensed, or a non-genuine Windows product, or if it includes unauthorized changes, then the functionality and experience of using the software will be affected. For example:
      Microsoft may

        [*] repair the software, and remove, quarantine or disable any unauthorized changes that may interfere with the proper use of the software, including circumvention of the activation or validation functions of the software; or
        [*]check and remove malicious or unauthorized software known to be related to such unauthorized changes; or…

      I would therefore feel that your suggestion could be classified as an unauthorised change. Not being Management here but with many years experience of this Board and its previous incarnation this was the normal stance. I hope that helps.

      BTW I know all these documents are open to interpretation so will not continue this conversation if it about ways to circumvent the EULA and was offered as clarification

    • in reply to: Check file existis on server dir #1205928

      Sal

      Try this 2 part function

      Code:
      Function FileExist(fname) As Boolean
      	 If Dir(fname)  "" Then _
       	 FileExist = True _
       	Else FileExist = False
      End Function
      '------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      'The VBA code that uses the above function is as follows:
      Sub FindFile()

      strPath = "\supportAllxmlcode.xml"
       	FileStatus = FileExist(strPath)
       	If FileStatus True Then MsgBox "Does Not Exist"

      End Sub
