Now I understand it. Thanks, Hans. The only thing, though, that I can’t seem to get working now is the title on my report. I want it to print the school name that I had selected. I did a text box with =[forms]![Families]![cmbSchoolName]. It shows the number of the school but I want the school name.

Here’s a stripped down version of my database.

I gave that a try, but it doesn’t seem to be working. When I put in [forms]![Families]![cmbSchoolName] in the Status Report query under the School field, I don’t get any records. Could it be because my combo box is a lookup, and the actual school names are in the School field of the Status Report query? Does it take the autonumber from the Schools table (that my combo box refers to) and try to match it to my School field in my query? The School field has the actual names of the schools in it, not a number.

But I would put the code on the Done button, right? (the one that I press to open up my report)

Would I still do it that way? Because my first form frmChooseYear is just a blank form with a combo box that displays all the school years in my tblSchoolYear table. I have two fields in my tblSchoolYear: SchoolYearID, and SchoolYear. The combo box shows the SchoolYear field.

When I click the Next button on my frmChooseYear, that opens another form frmSelectCategories that lists all the fees from my tblFees and a Select checkbox beside each fee. I check off which fees I want to show on my report, then I click my Done button on the frmSelectCategories form. Now the Category by Fee report opens up.

The report prints out a list of each fee selected with a list of students’ names under each fee showing how much of that fee that each student paid.

I should be putting the code on the Done button that I press to open up the report, correct? So how do I write a Where condition when the SchoolYear is on the first form I open?

Well, guess what? I’m having the same problem again. I can’t see my students on my Invoices by Student form! I tried recopying, and that doesn’t work either. I don’t know what’s going on. You see, I’m copying my database to each of my schools on their own servers. I goto my WorkingCopy.mdb file and then I right click and select Copy. I then go to the school server and Paste into a folder. Then I open up the mdb file on their server and go to Tools, Database Utilities, Link Manager and direct the links to the tables on their server instead of my server. I’m doing that correctly, aren’t I?

I’ll email you a copy of the database if you like, just let me know–because it’s much bigger than 100k and it’s a very complex database.
