      Yes, thanks Phil.
It would help if I could have a list of all the fields. I am trying to insert the “saluation” i.e. Mr. Ms. as well. I looked and can’t find what it on the MS site. Any idea where I could find it.
      Thanks again.

      Hi Hans,
I tried it. In the AutoNew macro that runs when creating a new doc based on the template I put Public j as integer
I got an error message saying Invalid attribute in sub or function.
      What else I am missing?
      Thanks alot for your help.

    • in reply to: Per diems, hotel (2000) #674936

Good stuff, but not quite what I need.
I need to keep track of $ for per diems and hotels separately from fees (days in the field).
and (to repeat myself) it would really be great if I could just hook up the perdiem and hotel daily rates to a task and the total $ for each would be calculated automatically depending on how long the task lasts (duration of task vs days of work).
      any idea is welcome
      tks

    • in reply to: Importing from Eudora (Outlook 2000/Win XP) #663513

      Hi Leif,
Tried this already without success. I wanted to export from Eudora but I just can’t seem to find how. I went on their site, not useful.

Yep, that is perfect. Thanks O Wise One.

    • in reply to: Fonts for PC and Mac (Win 98 Sr1 Mac OS 9.2) #649337

True type fonts look very similar but the same document will print differently depending on which platform it is printed from. The doc in Arial on the PC will be 1 page while the doc in arial on the Mac will spill over the next page. The Open Type fonts where the one solution I could find. Any other suggestions?

    • in reply to: Macro for formatting a picture (Word 2000) #644155

Change of plans but on the same set of thoughts: shapes.
I have a document with sections and different pictures in the headers. I have one section for the cover page, one for the ToC and one for the text. I want to create a macro that will create a new section at the end of the doc that will have no pictures in the headers.
I know how to get insert a section break and to tell it which section to work in:
      Dim i As Integer
      i = Selection.Information(wdActiveEndSectionNumber)
I know how to change the margins, tabs and not same as previous in the primary and EvenPages headers and footers.
What I can’t seem to do is to delete the pictures in them. Since they are not in-line with text, I cannot just use Selection.MoveDown Unit:=wdLine, Count:=1, Extend:=wdExtend. It does not work.
      I tried:
      With .Headers(wdHeaderFooterPrimary)
      .Shapes(#).Delete
It deletes some shapes but not necessarily the ones I want (i.e. deletes shapes in the previous sections also). I can’t seem to find a pattern to which shape it decides to delete even after trying different shape numbers.
I know I am not telling it exactly which shape I want to be deleted. I just can’t figure out how to do this. I tried shaperange.name but I just don’t get it.
After 5 hours, I guess I am just tired.
      HELP!

      Hi Kevin,
I never had the toolbar on when I created the template. I never use this toolbar. This really bugs me because it only with some templates and I can’t see what the difference is with them.

    • in reply to: Master document (Office XP) #635274

      Hi Stuart,
I knew this was a “sensitve” subject. I remember the disasters this option caused in Word 95. I thought that “maybe” it had been improved.
Anyway, I have a client who wants a training session on Master documents among other things and I know the competition includes this function in its training. I will give the training to my client but will caution him on the potential explosion hasard this might be.

      Thanks

      Hi Leif,
The error message is “Outlook has generated an error and will be shutdown by Windows”.
My message is in the deleted items folder, I don’t want to recover it, I just want to get rid of it.
