You need to enable the flag in the registry
      I believe its….
      HKCU/Software/Policies/Microsoft/IE/Control Panel/ — FormSuggest (change from 0 to 1)

I just did as you suggested and turned off Auto Complete by unchecking my selection and ok’d my way out. Closed IE and redid what I had just undone. Now we’ll see if it works.

      Thanks for the suggestion.

    • in reply to: Access 2003 is killing Access 2000 #1158523

HELP! I have an Access 2000 db that has been rendered useless. I can see that my Access 2000 has been removed somehow.

First, it needs to be converted. Then it claims there is a READ ONLY object. Then it claims the switch board is missing or misspelled.

All my forms are gone…even though the switchboard manager still sees them!!
There is no TOOLS/REFERENCES option to check.

I’ve attached screenshots of the error messages.

This is a mess and we are a week behind.

Nevermind a restore of the file resolved the issue.

Never mind… I found it DEEP in the HELP sections, which pointed me to MSDN, of course.

I see theres no deleting of posts in this new format. It may take me awhile to get up to speed in this new app.

    • in reply to: Pull date from table for form (Access 2003) #1141246

Not really. It’s just a table property. DateCreated or DateModified are the only attributes I’ve seen in code, but accessing it has been quite a pain.

      Awesome…thanks!

    • in reply to: Trim .com from string (Access 2003) #1132545

      Thanks for your help, All

I’ve done the quickest thing…which is place it in Excel
Insert the Stripit Function (Which was modified to a +3 on the right side of the trim)
Then called that from another column (= Stripit (a1))
This handled most of the nastiness

The ‘non-compliant’ ones were handled by filter and replace
      Filter = Contains “.co.uk” {et al.}
Then I just copied and pasted and manually edited the dozen or so entries. No biggie

      Inelegant…but it’s done!
      Thanks again.

    • in reply to: Trim .com from string (Access 2003) #1132528

YIKES…I just found a huge problem. This does nothing to catch the country variants: “.co.uk” et al. This just got 10 times more complicated.

    • in reply to: Trim .com from string (Access 2003) #1132524

I wish it were that simple. I guess I didn’t explain it properly. I don’t want to remove the “.com” piece from the string. I want to Right trim the string and remove all characters after the .com or .net

    • in reply to: Importing Named Excel Worksheet (Access97) #1129818

      Continuing (or reviving) this thread…
What do we do for a series of worksheets all with different range names?
      Ala “SheetNames!RangeNames”

Also, if there are literally and hundred or so spreadsheets (all with ranges) do we run the risk of running out of buffer space when copying?
Is there a way to halt the process, clear the buffers and then resume the process? Maybe even log the transfer activity (sheetnames and range names)?

    • in reply to: Hide columns in Workbook (2003) #1072670

My apologies. That was very vague of me.
My intention is to check for a (NULL or blank) in a cell (say C:2)
If it is NULL or blank then just hide ROW#2

There would be a limit in the array. It wouldn’t have to be for all 65k rows.
The upper limit of the array would prob be 1000.

    • in reply to: Hide columns in Workbook (2003) #1072641

Great! What if I wanted to extend that to a conditional hiding of rows if a value was null or blank?
      Thanks again

    • in reply to: Trim-Parse troubleshoot (2003) #1059355

      Another awesome solution!
Had I not had the ability to create or append a module, this would’ve saved my keester.
      Cheers to you too! bravo

AWESOME! That rocks! You rock. Saved me hours of work! bravo

    • in reply to: Trim-Parse troubleshoot (2003) #1059204

More than likely…all I want is the last one to the right. Is it necessary to count every instance? I saw a post which mentioned INSTRREV (or something like that). Is it just a VBA function?

    • in reply to: Error copying reports (Access 2003) #1036478

BINGO! Thanks a million for all your help. This was actually a blessing in disguise as I was trying to figure out a way to glean the useful elements from the flotsom (unused queries and tables) that had collected over time. The documenter was a decent place to start, but this little salvage operation was better than I’d hoped. You saved me hours of hairout.
