      Take a look at the following:

      Try the part to remove the Data key from the registry first (It is your most likely cause), if that does not work, try the other steps listed.

      There can be many things running that do not show when you Control-Alt-Delete. In addition to the previous msconfig suggestion, do the following:

      With your mouse, Go to
      Start
      Run
      Type “msinfo32” (No Quotes)
      Click OK

      Select Software Environment-Running Tasks, this will give you a much more thorough listing of the software running “behind the scenes”, and may point you to the offending program.

      The attachment is only marked as unavailable, it is actually still there.

      This is not a fix, but it is a viable workaround.
      Import the offending message into Outlook Express (or another mail program that imports Outlook data), and the attachment will be available.
