AskWoody LoungerWow! What a great function. You have no idea how much time you have saved me. Many many thanks.

AskWoody LoungerI’m happy with your array – it works! Thanks again for your time.

AskWoody LoungerYour suggestion works – thank you!
I am not familiar with arrays, but I seem to remember hearing that large arrays can be very slow to calculate. Will it matter if the array has two columns but perhaps several hundred rows? -

AskWoody LoungerThanks for your response. Our IS people have looked at this with no luck. It definitely seems to be a problem with individual computers, not the templates. If I create a new Word document and insert a check box using the Forms tool bar, the check box always work and never crashes. Some other computers who try to create check boxes in Word – or use the new documentsI have created – still crash immediately when they double-click the check box. Can you expand on your comment about “changing the field properties” – I don’t understand. Thanks.

AskWoody LoungerThanks for the reference to the previous discussion. I am inclined to believe that, as someone pointed out, that this is a “known issue” without a good solution. I have managed to work around it by manipulating font size, etc. as recommended. Per your suggestion, I am attaching an earlier version of the document where I discovered the problem. Again, thanks for your help.

AskWoody LoungerOctober 12, 2001 at 1:41 pm in reply to: Hypertext – File Disappears (Word 97 under WIN98SE) #546408I have read your suggestion to this problem, but I don’t think it quite applies to what I typically need to do. I’m usually hyperlinking from a base Word document to a secondary Word document whose file name I don’t know – I have to browse to find it. And I want both documents – or a whole string of them – to remain open. Someone showed me the following method, which is incredibly laborious, but does work. Any suggestions on shortening this process? Thanks.
Select the word or phrase that will serve as the hyperlink (and remember what it is)
Insert > Field
Hyperlink > Options > n > OK > Ok
In place of the hyperlink word or phrase selected will appear the message -

AskWoody LoungerThis worked when I did Edit, Delete, All rather than Edit, Clear, All. Thanks very much – this was driving me crazy.
