    • I had a similar problem when I changed my Gmail password. Every time I tried to use Gmail with Outlook 365 I was being asked for a password. Every password I tried failed with an error message. A trawl of the Internet provided the answer for me. I had to open my Gogle account, go to Sign In & Security and scroll down to the bottom of the page. I then had to change the “Allow less secure apps:” to ON. After rebooting it was all back to normal. You will get a couple of warnings from Google about security, but it worked for me. Seems that Google thinks signing in from Outlook is not secure enough for them. Might be worth a try

No good … changing to Exclusive send 90% of all mail to the Spam box. May have to live with it.

Now changed the filter to ‘Exclusive’. Will see what happens now

Well I added the address to the Safe Sender list and for good measure added the address to the Safe Mailing list, but the mails are still being marked as junk. The mail does contain hyperlinks, but only to one site that I know is a safe site. Can’t think of anything else I can do.

Aha !! It would appear that I had not. Done so now. Thanks once again.:clapping:

Thanks @JoeP517. So basically there is no way that I can ensure that mails from this sender do not end up in the Junk folder?

Found it! Options > Mail > Layout > Categories then uncheck the ‘Show the category column in the message list’

That’ll do the job. 😀 Many thanks @BruceR  It’s just a shame that it has to be done that way

Hi @BruceR. That was the first thing I tried. Unfortunately that is greyed out. But thanks for the help.

    • in reply to: Word Count on Word 2013 – Auto-update on save #1536463

I am looking for a way of updating the NumWords field in Word 2013. I have the field as a word Count in the footer of my document, and the only way I can see that it can be updated is to right-click the field and select the ‘Update field’ option. I would like the field to update, whenever I clikc on the save icon on the Ribbon or Quick Access toolbar. Alternatively, and this may be the better option, a macro that I could assign to a button, that would update this field. I’ve done the obligatory Google search, but nothing seems to be fit for purpose. Any help would be most appreciated.
      Tony.

Just when you think you have tried everything, along come someone with this:

      Sub MyUpdateFields1()

      ActiveDocument.StoryRanges(wdPrimaryFooterStory).Fields.Update

      End Sub

Job done (sort of) Thanks to anyone who had a look.

Well ladies and gentlemen, I think the issue is now solved. It was a Com Add-in that was the problem and it was an Adobe PDF maker add-in

Once this was disabled the problem went away.
Many thanks for all your help

Thanks. I did try that also.

Hi. Just to clarify. I right click and select open for an Excel file through Explorer. The same thing happens if I double click on the file in Explorer. The result is that the file opens in the foreground, but there is another instance of Excel open, but this has no worksheet. Does that make sense?
