An internet search revealed one USB modem compatible with win10.

Don’t know what “FF” is but telephone function on my desktop is an answering machine/fax function.

Acronis True Image WD downloaded from Wd Site appeared to be a full version as it creates partition or disk images, creates a bootable emegency recovery disk and is supposed to recover from Acronis images.

As noted in other parts of this subject the same Emergency Boot disk works perfectly on another computer – recognizes and diplays all partitions on the other desktop pc.

      Thank you for your response

Obviously, the emergency boot disk fails, new iteration of Acronis (ver 2015, old ver. created 2013), also fails with same error.

Acronis will operate within win7 os and recover data. So its baffling that the emergency boot can’f locate hard drives.

      Thank you.

      HI Paul:

Ironically, nothing tried has come close to solving the Acronis Problem. Downloaded Ver 2015 created emergency boot disk and have the same issue “No Hard Disk Found’ before Acronis starts the acronis system.

I communicated with Wd Tech support as the original Acronis is Acronis True Image WD.The tech agent indicated the problem is with the Bios. Also communicated with Acronis Tech – no response, yet.

This is a new Gigabyte dual core board so I communicated with the Vendor and their reponse is to install Win7 as a repair in first Boot. Stated it would sync the mobo and OS. First time I have ever heard this idea. Though obviously, had to re-activate win7.

I may have indicated that a reinstall is possible- getting the hidden admin is not imperative, but its a bugging issue.
So this could ride until the win 10 update.

Thank you. Hope Santa Glides down
      your chinney!

P.S. Was going to mention it’s baffling that the same boot disc works on another computer different mobo, hdd and such but it works perfectly.

Strange CdRw response, reads headers and text files but won’t read executable files.

Used another Media reader and fixed the Monitor Driver issue.

No sound output for some reason.

Thank you again for your help.

May be the time in life device death. Looks like the Samsung CdRW may have died. No data displays in explorer but will on another computer.

Also this xp pro ver. installed from original disk as service pack 2. Downloaded service pack 3 several years ago but can’t recall how to install the service pack. May not matter as don’t plan to ever re-acquaint this machine with the internet.

      Thank you.

Found the xp sp3 at Ms and installed. Didn’t think Ms would have any support files but they do!

That Nvidia detail was taken from the last item in the list. The other items in the list end with #1=&38;#2= &28; #3=&09;#4=&68 as noted.

    • in reply to: No monitor in Control Panel #1538124

      it is “73091 462&rev_A23&267A6a6A&0&68

The nvidia monitor driver is Gforce 6150s En force 430 if that helps any.

I knew the ! devices were a problem but can’t tell which device.

Msinfo32 device problems report is about the same info as I got trying to identify the device.

Problem device:”pciven_10de&dev_03EF&subsys…” I’m assuming this the hex address of the device. Other devices list the same address with F0,EB, D0 ; For the other three.

Will try disconnecting the monitor, etc.

Thank you Sudo for your response.

Maybe I didn’t clearly describe the device manager: following Mice is the unknown listing show in my original post. After that is Ports listing and so forth to the bottom of the device list.

There is no monitor category. As I said I went through all of my disks trying to figure out which device requires drivers and attempting to use Action to update the drivers – no drivers found.

Attempted various methods to alter the registry listing of MSI/Nvidia drivers causing the GForce Monitor incompatibility no change resulted.

Just Contacted Microsoft Help desk and was advised the only to change this(even though Gigabyte.Intel Mobo/drivers now in system) must reinstall Win7 to remove the incompatibility.

I’ll look forward to that on a cold rainy day in 2016.

You can’t do anything with files when Windows is using them so you will have to boot up into Safe Mode, uninstall the existing card then remove the references to Nvidia in the registry if none of the steps in the article I’d linked will work for you – but don’t forget to create a restore point first before making any changes to the registry.

As the monitor driver interface is integral to this system- what card are you referring to?

If I see this correctly, all I’ll do is remove the Registry references to Nvidia, even though at this point there is no MSI mobo- which is what nvidia is listed under.

Kudos to Sudo – thank you again!

    • in reply to: Win10 compatibility #1537372

Sudo, thank you for the response.

However, strange, registry will not permit editing of Nvidia postings. The Nvdia is under MSI listing, which is actually not used as the current Mobo is Gigabyte with Intel CPU and drivers.

Not to keen on reinstalling Win7 just to get Win10.

      Other input, will appreciated.
