      Dear Alan

Because the radio broadcast is picked up via my digital TV, Freecom (TotalMedia software) records it as if it were video out put which is MPG.

(I don’t stream and record radio from the internet as I don’t have broadband and I don’t have a digital radio as I pick it up through the television, there is no need to purchase one.)

      Don’t know the make.

The stick has only been used on PCs running Windows XP.

      Yep, no files or folders

Now that I have the device in my hot little hands I am embarrassed to say that it is a USB Flash memory stick.

blush and not the flat cards.

My friend has said she has never used it to its full capacity.

I tried to defrag it (just a shot) and the Analysis Properties Volume (Ismile

Unfortunately, my friend bought it on e-bay so no instructions.

      Any work around?

    • in reply to: Download files blocked (IE 6) #1081783

The file sizes are 50 to 75 mb. This has never been a problem in the past.

We have also tried using FireFox.

    • in reply to: Download files blocked (IE 6) #1081768

It seems to be coming from whatever file site we are using. If it is Mediafire, then it gives a URL for MediaFire, same for Rapid Download etc.

I didn’t use my dial up username because it would never work to access the mail via the web. I had tried that in the past just to see if it would work.

I finally got through to Tiscali, just as I was about to hang up on the 50th ring, and they told me they sent out an e-mail to Gateway users saying that because of the new web interface they would have to use their dial up name. Tried it while the helpdesk were still on the line and it worked. But the poor guy on the help desk couldn’t explain why I never got the e-mail informing me of the change.

Glad to say this thread is closed!!!

I would if someone would answer the censored phone

Log in over the internet is e-mail address and password. When connecting at home via Outlook I have to dial up, use my usenamer which is a bizarre series of numbers and letters, then a password.

While using Outlook is fine, I can only do it at home as I rarely use my work e-mail to receive personal messages and access via the web was very convenient. Some messages need to remain private (like searching for a new job!) I have a lot of sent mail sitting on the webmail and e-mail addresses in the address book that I can’t get at and that is so frustrating.

    • in reply to: Envelope add to doc/Preview (2003) #1040284

      Yes!!!!!

Thank goodness or I would have had to make new templates.

      Most sincere thanks

      Dear Hans

Thank you for the screenshot. Did some further trials on new plain Word docs and preview did show as your example. Tried it with docs created with new templates (Word 2003), so far so good.

The documents that don’t show as your screen shot were documents that were created using the company templates created in Word 95. Changed the compatibility for these templates to Word 2003 but didn’t do much good. As most of our docs are based on these templates it might be that we have to rethink/remake the templates.

      Thanks

      Dear Hans

Fantastic! This has saved a lot of work as nearly 30 more worksheets are being added and it will continue to grow.

      Thank you very very much

You are very right about the moral issue and I try to be honest. You wouldn’t believe how many people get stroppy when I say they cannot have copies of any of my software! (Paid for in full!)

In this particular instance is was more chance that I discovered I could do it.

AND I am all for making a donation to those developers who put free stuff out there for us to use.

      Regards

(Edited by Hetty on 04-Oct-06 15:24. Forgot to add)

      Dear Hans

True about paying for full versions of software that is why I didn’t give the name for the software. However, in this particular instance, I don’t need the advanced features so I would end up using the free version anyway for this particular program.

      Regards
