Thanks for this link. I’ve been looking for the last couple of months for the update on the old site – wondering what was happening.

Thanks for the quick response, Al.
I’ll try that later to see if it works.

      Hi Alan
Here’s the code for my “JunkTidy” script. Unless it’s compiled it will only work with Autoit V 3 on your system. For any one interested, I’ve renamed it as a txt file but to use it the suffix should, of course, be “*.au3”

I also use Autoit with Zipgenius for backups, as ZipGenius has a very flexible command line capability and menus for program launchers to save clutter on desktop.

You mention ** Spam post – please alert a Moderator ** and of course, that subject lands in my Inbox with a frequency I’d rather do without. I send them to my junk list in Outlook and then I used to open the list and remove the prefix from the email sender’s address so they won’t catch me out with a slight change.
Any way, to get to the point, I now have an autoit script that does that for me – and loads of other useful little scripts too.
It’s just about the best piece of software I’ve got – and it’s free!
      Everyone should have one.

      Hi Ian
I go straight to the download site, download the file then update it from my hard disk. I never have any problems.

    • in reply to: Menu builder software ? #917019

You could write your own menu(s) with a compiled AutoIt script. You can download AutoIt here. It’s also mentioned in some older threads in Software Finds and Wants.
It’s got loads of other uses too.

    • in reply to: TMP copies of XL files (excel 2000 (SP3)) #914311

Thanks for your pointers, Jan and Hans.
I checked the code and I think I’ve sorted it. I have ‘before_save’ that sorts and if necessary copies a formula down the column to match new entries. I’d put the cutcopymode = false outside the if … end if section so on occasions it was trying to remove the cutcopy when it wasn’t there.
It seems OK so far now so I think I’ve fixed it.
      Thanks again.

I haven’t had to use Acrobat yet so I hadn’t noticed a problem. Thanks for that additional note, Tony.
      Much appreciated.

      Hello Tony
I followed your pointer and am using the en-GB version (M2 for my older CPU, I think). Like you, I find it noticeably faster in operation.
      Thanks.

      Hi John
There’s an extension called just ‘X’ which I think i downloaded from here. It’s configurable to delete everything you might wish.
