Thanks for that – it works. I’m not sure what the difference is . Yours has ‘myRecur’ whereas I was writing it in full for each line I suspect it may be the ‘ClearRecurrencePattern’ entry which mine did not have. Unfortunately I made both changes without checking and I don’t want to go back.

The main difference between yours and mine is that mine allows you to choose a folder in Outlook to store it.

I say mine – but actually I got it from the code samples on Helen Feddema’s site (http://www.helenfeddema.com). She has one that transfers Contacts from Access(2K) to Outlook and I played around with it to transfer dates and separately to write and send emails from within Access. It’s worth a visit if you want to look at automating quite a few tasks.

Any way whatever we did it now works with daily recurring appointments – thanks.

in the query that queries the other 3 create an extra field called Total_Size and make it equal the other 3 added together ie in the field cell type: Total_Size:[Field1]+[Field2]+[Field3].
That’s the way I do it and it works.

If you created the reply boxes in Publisher also I think you’ll find that publisher tabs them in the order you create them. The easiest way to change it is to view the source code in Notepad and change the order of the boxes in there. It is some time since I worked a web page in Publisher and I found it easier ti edit it afterwards in Notepad once you’d created the complicated stuff in Publisher. Try it -I think I’m right.

    • in reply to: Icon Maker #531756

Since I got involved in all this communication, I thought I’d better try creating an icon again. I’ve just scanned in one of my cartoons, on a white background as a TIFF image (my standard format for scanning and storing images). I then saved as *.BMP and went into Explorer to make it *.ICO. It is currently 284kb but I just change the size attributes to reduce the file size and as long as there is not too much detail you don’t lose definition. I have a perfect transparent icon.

I haven’t actually made any for some time except a few lwtters of the alphabet in squares but I’ve used TIFFS of all sizes, changed them to *BMP (24-bit I think) and then made the change to *ICO. I’ve never had any trouble (but see my previous response to Eileen on’tweaking’).

      Eileen
I’ve just noticed, that since I ‘tweaked’ to ‘use all possible colours’ on icons some time ago (I’m still on w95 with iTweaku) – new icons I create show the white background. All my old icons before this are still transparent where background was white. In WME (and I assume W98) the tweak is built in. I haven’t tried it but I assume if you ‘untweak’, create the icon then ‘retweak’ – this will work.

      Catharine – right size
Once you change it to *.ico it doesn’t matter what the original size was – it’s icon size on desktop.

      Eileen – Transparent?
White background seems to go transparent. Otherwise I do background same colour as desktop (not ideal for other situations)

If you create your image as a BMP and save it , then go into explorer and change it from *.BMP to *.ICO – you have an icon. I’ve created and used loads this way/

Charlotte, I do have an Access db with lots of macros and some code. It works well so what are the annoyances you mention?

Thanx for that piece of confirmation. I had an idea that it wasn’t worth the bother and you’ve reassured me.

Try looking here (http://www.helenfeddema.com/Code Samples.htm[/url]). There’s some good codes to get you started.

Thanks for that. I haven’t tried it yet but I downloaded some and they look just right.
      Thanks again

Tried Morefunc and love it! Especially the numbers to text function.

    • in reply to: Date Default to Last Year #520196

If you use the Date() function in the cell you want to show your proper date you can put Date($X$1,y1,z1). You then insert the year you want in x1 which is the only cell you need for the year and create two extra columns in your sheet y and z, say, where you insert the month no and day no. Hey presto! the date you want appears in the appropriate cell.
