      Thanks, Alan:
There was only a problem when dialling and while waiting for a connection – all all other times, including the verification and logging-on phases, OE and the entire system responded to the console properly. I suspect these two antisocial characteristics of DUN were related to corruption in the registry. I have loaded a six-month-old registry back-up and rebooted, and now I don’t lose response. I hope things will be back to normal when I lose connection in future, too.
      Sydney.

      Thank you once again, Paul:
No other applications I use hold on to control when they aren’t actually using much CPU – while DUN is waiting for server to respond, Process Explorer reveals that CPU is 90% to 95% idle.
The “Dial whenever a network connection is not present” box was already unchecked – but disregarded!

      Thank you, Tony.
There’s something going on at Serif – they have now corrected this denial of access problem but the forum still isn’t accepting messages: have let the HQ know.
      Have also unchecked ‘friendly’ messages.

Thank you , John Gray, for your added and interesting response. I had a lot of trouble macro-ing ctrl+alt+4 on to that target key, until I recognised that my usual type-face – Garamond – has no Euro symbol in its normal style.
And I’ve often wondered what Alt Gr stood for. Oh for the good old days of comprehensive printed manuals.

Thank you for the encouragement, and for drawing my attention to bmsltd.ie – that site looks very promising, and removes my concern about the charting capabilities of Excel being limited – just leaves me wondering whether I can handle the VBA.

      Many thanks, Leif:
I’d have replied sooner, but I’ve had agonies trying to get back to the lounge since the server was relocated.
Yes he was using IE and the margins were set to 25 mm each side.
Resetting to 12 left and 6 right gave a perfect output, with or without additional border.

Incidentally, I would like to get rid of the blank inch to the left of the page on the screen, and will go looking for how to change from 800 to expand-to-fit, to see if that achieves the desired result..

      Tthankyou, friend:
No, I don’t mean the scroll-bar – the printer loses the right edge of the page.
Today I was visiting someone who had exactly the same problem with a local govt. site.
Unlike most sites one comes across, my site seems not to have distinct frames – it’s coded by an affordable DIY program called WebPlus which is limited to a standard-size letter or A4 page, being derived from another affordable program called PagePlus – in effect each page is one frame.

(Edited by Leif to make link live – see the quick guide)

When visitors want to print a page from my site, http://www.microtask.org.uk[/url%5D, they get it all except for a margin on the right side of their page. What should I be doing differently, or extra, to eliminate this problem?
