I did the systems restore, then re-installed Access from Add/Remove. My Norton Anti-virus started giving me problems, and the original problems with Access remained. I returned to the original restore state, Access is functioning, Norton is OK, and we will see what happens with the strange error message.

I just close the error message and everything seems to function OK. I “uninstalled” the Access program via the Add/Remove procedure.

I would lose the installation of Access if I did that, which I do not want to do. Is there any other approach? In this instant, the message poped up again!

Many thanks. The information from the ACC Error Message page let me fix it.

How do you recompile the modules? What should I have checked in the Tools/Reference window you mention?

    • in reply to: Error messages (Access 97) #608295

I went through the procedures which you recommended. I did have a file marked “Missing”. I recheckde the tick box in Tools/Reference, and the “Missing” message is gone. Then I reinstalled Access successfully, as suggested in the knowledge base. The wizard files, *.mde were reinstalled.

The errors still occur. Basically, whenever I try to use the wizard to create a new db, I get the message “ActiveX component can’t create object.”

Any other ideas? Thanks for the patience.

Thanks to all for the comments. I have eliminated 13 of the 30, so far with no problems. Don’t know if it did any good, but I feel better.

Easy CD Creator 5 Platium mentions “Back up your computer to CD in three easy steps.” Has anyone used this program? A minimum version come bundled with Dell. It does not include the backup.

Your problem has certainly found an echo in the public. Please keep this alive with your experiences. I am having exactly the same problems.

The solution requires that I rename the file C:WindowsFontshatten.ttf. When I right-click on the file, I get only a “View” option. There is no option to rename the file.

Please have patience with me on this one.

I tried the search There+is+no+license on all forums, all dates, but the only thing that came up is your recent note. Any other ideas? Any thoughts are appreciated.
