Thanks for your response, but I am using an external drive for a backup destination. Therefore, there is no tape tab.

yes, but explorer does not list the individual backups on the F: drive. They are only listed from within the software

well, I did a simple thing: I was asked for a disk in the drive, so I put a blank disk into the drive. That fixed the problem!!!!

Tried changing a word file. Still the same problem.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I do have that folder and the files in it to be synced. Those are the ones that do not update when I change them. Someone on another list suggested I delete the current partnership and create a new one. Did that to no avail. Any other thoughts?

If you know all that, then you’ve answered your own question.

    • in reply to: Quicken Backup (WINXP Pro) #1800034

I don’t know if someone explained this to you or not. If yes, then I apologize for the duplication. If you are using XP’s Cd writing, which I think you are, you need to first write the files to be backed up to the CD Burning folder. You need to browse to that folder on your hard drive when Quicken asks where to back up. That folder is found at c:Documents and Settingsuser nameLocal SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftCD Burning. After you back up to that directory, open up your CD and click copy files to CD. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your time. Thats exactly what I needed and it worked! I suggest you block access to http://www.xupiter.com with your Internet Tools under restricted sites.

Thanks for your reply. You have more than I have. Could you send me a registry entry for just that folder. I don’t have the second line with the long series of numbers and letters. Thanks a lot.

    • in reply to: Nvidia drivers (XP Home SP1) #637156

Thank you for your explanation. Since I’m not haviing problems and programs and windows open rather speedily, I think I’ll leave well enough alone and stay with the drivers boxed with XP. For the record, what I mean by trailing images is that there is a trailing effect (which disappears) when I move windows around. Since I’m not updating at this time, I guess it doesn’t matter. Thanks again

I did end up on a forum with the address you sent and communicated with the author of Browser Hijacker Blaster who did admit af ter a while that his software might have caused the problem re: changing the home page to nothing! He said, “Wait until version 2 comes out.”!! Thanks again

    • in reply to: Nvidia drivers (XP Home SP1) #637134

I don’t want to beat a dead horse but…. I do not play any games. Is there any other reason to update to the latest Nvidia driver. Frankly I did install the latest series 40 and found that when I moved windows there was a “trailing image” It seemed to me that my speed slowed considerably. Are there significant adjustments that need to made on their panel or are the defaults satisfactory? Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for the website. I did find a mention of the” start page as none” using “Hijackthis” software mentioned in a link on the site you suggested. I deleted it, so we’ll see what happens. I checked the Downloaded Program Files folder and that ID is not there. Thanks for all of your time and help.

Here’s an interesting development. I have Browser Hijacker Blaster installed and running. Twice in the last two days while not using IE, an alert came up stating that the home page was changed from http://www.excite.com to [nothing]. I try to change it back and it keeps changing back to nothing. If I check the home page under “General Internet Options” there are six ?????? in the box. The only way that I can get it to stay at my home page, is to reboot the computer. I also got an alert that a new BHO was detected from Adobe. I ran both adaware and spybot and nothing was picked up. I have XP firewall installed and tested at some testing sites and the computer is secure…all ports are closed and my IP is not pingable. This morning (I leave the computer on all night) I checked the computer and Browser Hijacker had an alert screen up telling me that the home page was changed again. I uninstalled Browser Hijacker, and I haven’t had this problem all day. Any ideas?
