That seems to be the answer, Phil.

It’s in Normal.Dot, but something must be running after it. I really don’t want the PDF toolbar there, and when the View Changes is turned on, things that are inserted always come up as changes. Grrr.

Well, for instance, I just went into a new document. My first instance using autotext, yielded my name in Times Roman, black. The next item yielded a sign off, “Best, Michael” in Arial black, and a third, another sign off, came up in Arial, blue. In each case, that is how the format existed when the autotext was recorded. Since many are created in email, some also come up in Courier.

      Thanks,
      Michael

    • in reply to: Autoexec Macro help (OFF2003 Wxp) #854960

I tried creating an Autoopen and a Dcoument_Open macro, and neither worked. The code in each was the following:

      Application.ActiveWindow.View.ShowRevisionsAndComments = False
      CommandBars(“PDFMaker 6.0”).Visible = False

the first line I got from a post above, the second by recording the closing of the PDF toolbar. But, while running the AutoOpen macro achieves the result I want, it is not happening automatically.

      Thanks,
      Michael

    • in reply to: Email Stuck in Outbox – with no date (Outlook 2003) #854790

I’ve had this problem for ages. It seems to me that it happens if I look at the Outbox folder. Then the last email liated loses its date and is not sent. I don’t know how to prevent this, but I have a simple workaround for when it does happen.

Open your Navigation Pane so Inbox is visible. In Outbox, drag the email with no date to Inbox. Go to Inbox, open the offending email, click SEND, and then Send/Receive All.

      That usually does it.

      Best,
      Michael

    • in reply to: Identifying a Web Site folder (FP2002, Office 2003) #845611

I’ll try that, but right now FP seems to be recognizing the folder as a web site, so it’s OK.

      Thanks,

    • in reply to: Hidding email addresses (2000) #845610

Thanks, that seems to have worked. I replaced the @ in the mailto: as follws mailto:miqqi@gilbert1.net – will that protect me enough? My university address is completely blown, but I’d hate for my own url addressses [like that one] to become useless.

      Thanks,
      Michael

I used the encoder form, and followed instructions. In FP I replaced the address with the encoded form. But, when I saved the page in FP it converted it to the email address, so that’s what got posted. How can I prevent that?

      Thanks,
      Michael

    • in reply to: OL won’t send [sometimes] (OL2003 WXP) #843998

Good questions. I open the message, make the changes, then press the send button again. And, no the preview window is not open in that folder. However, I just tried something. I moved the offending letter to my Inbox, opened it, selected Send, selected Send/Receive All, and away it went.

      Very strange.
