And now a completely different solution.
If I understand your problem, what about using the built in TextToColumns command? Select column of data, define how you want to parse it and away you go. You can record the options in a macro for later use. I use this all the time for parsing text files.
Sorry, if this isn’t what you are trying to do.

Exif. Bingo. I was able to get the data needed. Now I just have to figure out why Windows won’t show me it, when it would last week.
      thanks

Using the inkPicture control, you can capture the signature strokes. you can save the stokes in the excel as either stokes, gif, or some other sort of metafile.

      Should have seen that one.

    • in reply to: Looooong boot time #662043

ah details. Would be helpful, wouldn’t they.
      Win 2000 SP2
It has been going on for a while. I had forgotten about it since I rarely turn the thing off. This weekend brought back all the memories.
Chkdsk is run when I reboot, but again that is not often.
The event logs do not show any errors on boot. Once it boots, all devices are shown to be working just fine.
I have not tried anything (other than not rebooting) since I had no good idea where to start. (probably would cause more trouble than it cures)
Not much in there that is helpful, but that is why I am stuck also.

Thanks for the feedback. Using BC does not give the effect I need. It leaves the To: blank or you have to put someone else

    • in reply to: Which Function (2000) #618484

no error when the function is updated. Perhaps my eyes are bad and the calls are different and I am just not seeing it. I have tried to reproduce this combination and I do get the error.

    • in reply to: Which Function (2000) #618476

Sorry, no error. I expected an error when I saw how all this thrown together, but no such luck.
Not a major problem. Just a curious oddity.
On a parallel tack, Function calls to functons use the ones in the current module and then in other modules?

    • in reply to: Testing Addresses (2000) #595491

The are house in a group in exchange. No one seems to know how to get the email address out of the group just the names. So, having the names, I can recreate the email address (first.last@company.com). The problem is that, around 20% of the email address are some variation of first.last (things like middle names, Jr etc…) so I need a way to test my calculated address against the exchange list.

There are around 1500 users in the group. 20% is around 300. so brute force is an option, just not my first choice.

The only problem with code is that I am not overly familiar with the outlook object model, since I have never had a need to delve into it. (Word, Excel, Access no problem)

    • in reply to: hidden fields and back #565748

I don’t get the impression that the search page is reloaded. perhaps it is. I will try tying some sync code to the load event.

    • in reply to: hidden fields and back #565740

The expanding/collapsing code does set the hidden field. The problem is when the user clicks Back. All the sections are collapsed (default state) but the hidden fields are at their previous values.

What about network printers? Might be it is timeing out toconnecting to the default printer. This used to be a problem for Word, Excel, WP years ago. I haven’t had a chance to test this recently.

    • in reply to: Compare VBA code tool (EXCEL 97/2000) #554310

MS has a tool called WinDiff which will compare 2 files or 2 dirs. If you want to compare your code, export it to a .bas and then use WinDiff on the 2 files. The app graphiclly shows what is the same and different in the files.

    • in reply to: selection of blocks of cells (97 SR-2) #1790217

The tab key also cycles you through the selected cells while keeping them selected. If that helps at all…
