Good article. I have a problem with Win update on my Win 10 computer because the updates automatically reboot. This is not good because I usually put my computer to Sleep with some apps open. When it auto-reboots it fouls up my open apps. Is there a way to do auto-update without auto-reboot and leave the reboot up to me?

Helpful article. Would have helped if where it says you should have a full image of your OS, it also gave a link to recommended software for making the full image.

Great article and I’m following your advice and passing it on to friends. A question remains:
After Mainstream support ends, will the updates up to that time still be available to download? It’s important to have them available otherwise you could not restore your OS from the original disk. Or else have an image of the up-to-date OS available, which needs to be mentioned in the article.

Good info but I have a question about vgx.dll. The recommendation is to disable it via the registry but I wonder if we could just delete it instead?

Good article and looking forward to next in series. I would also like to see a discussion of the various types of backup software and methods for using them.

Excellent info, thanks. It mentioned checking your credit report from Experian, etc. but you’re limited to 3 free reports per year. Better yet is to sign up for a credit monitoring service that sends you an email for every event in your credit. I’ve been using http://www.creditsesame.com which is free and recommended by AARP and also includes free credit scores.

Great article but leaves a question in my mind. Sounds like the files in the Boxcryptor folder are automatically decrypted on my computer; shouldn’t I or anyone on my computer have to enter the password? If not, my computer is hackable. A user needs encryption on both his computer and the cloud.

Thanks for the very detailed testing of these scanners. I’ve been using System Mechanc Pro for sometime and would like to see how it stacks up in a future article
