Sure does… But when I was clicking your link before, it was taking me to the dreaded Page Cannot Be Found. Now it’s working fine though. Go figure, perhaps there are strange cosmic rays about!

In any case, THANK YOU for pointing me to the right answer without even being asked.

P.S. The link has changed to a new location : . Thanks so much, Hans, I knew you would know the answer to this! Thank goodness for Woody’s Lounge searches. smile

    • in reply to: Post anonymously to a Public Folder (Outlook 2003 SP1) #1034316

Yes, this is one way. We’d like to keep it all in Outlook though. The idea is to make it as anonymous as possible while still keeping it in Outlook. The IT department would follow the ethical standards of not checking up on who posted what since we really doubt there is a way to convince Outlook to be completely anon.

Awesome… was just having this same problem. Did not realize each contributing cell needed that property. Thanks once again HansV!

Awesome, exactly what I’ve been looking for!

    • in reply to: Double Toolbars – Can’t Remove Template (Word 2000 sp 3) #990713

I understand where you’re headed… I’ll take a crack at removing everything and see how that goes.

Do you know why Word would disable the Remove button in the Templates & Add-ins window? That would be the easiest way to play around with the various templates…

    • in reply to: Hide pasted graphics (2002) #940289

So, not exactly timely, but something I learned today and definitely good to know – if you do want to sort and keep the graphics with the originating cells, all the cells in the spreadsheet must be tall enough to hold the tallest cell (i.e.; if you have one cell that needs to be 75 pts. tall to enclose the graphic, you need to make ALL the cells 75 pts. tall) or else you run the risk of having some graphics becoming disassociated with their originating cell text.

Ah, I forgot to mention that the comment function won’t work for us – we use metadata scrubbers pretty regularly that would wipe out the comments along with track changes. Way too much liability with the Reviewing toolbar.

The back button might work well enough, but the whole procedure is not nearly as ‘slick’ as our users would like (you know those attorneys!).

Interesting. I could have sworn it was a “click here” type of thing. Thanks for your thoughts!

    • in reply to: MailMerge – Choose Contact Folder (WordXP) #841597

In playing around with the working version through Citrix, I learned that the mail merge IS much more functional when starting from Outlook. It seems that all the contact fields are imported, rather than just the few you get when beginning the merge from Word (Nickname was the crucial one I was looking for). You can always use the User-defined fields, but what a pain!

It looks like the best answer to this question is “just start from Outlook!”
