I could not ascertain which are of value.

    • in reply to: TrueType Font Folder for Word 2000 #1176447

      I operate under XPPro-SP-3. I use Word 2000 (9.0.6926 SP-3)

I once had access to the TrueType font, Lucida Calligraphy, in Word. It is missing on my new machine. If I open an old document containing this font and resave it under a new name, I can replace the text in paragraphs composed in the font and it displays on the screen and prints just fine. In a paragraph composed in the font, the name shows in the font box in the toolbar in Word. However, the font is not in the drop-down menu for fonts in Word.

I saved the contents of my old HDDs on a 500 GB storage drive on the new machine. Today I found the font and copied it to C:WindowsFonts. The filename I found is LCALLIG.TTF. It is dated 10/27/99.

I still do not see the font in Word, even after rebooting the machine. Do I need to do something else to make it available in Word? I could not find anything in Word Help that appeared germane, but I may have chosen the wrong search terms.

      Thanks,

      baumgrenze

Go to Control Panel, under File you will find
Install new font as per the attachment

It was a little hard to follow the thread, but I decided to try Irfanview, which is familiar, and I am still struggling.

What I want is a full display (both scroll right and scroll down) of the details view of Revo Uninstall, which will give me a full inventory of all installed programs. This is under XP Home, which I haven’t much for some time. I want it once and only once, so freeware or trial is preferable. I may just transcribe it from the table to Word, since the programs for which I need the data are limited, but that strikes me as an example many might have a use for. (For all I know Revo has it built in.)

      I have used Ashampoo
      Magical Snap 2
      Now Snap 3

There is a free registration key for Magical Snap 2

BTW I have enjoyed this topic.

It’s an Avery 5164 template (I had a laser printer, when this template was used, changed into an inkjet – I don’t think, that was the problem), which had only text in it. I was asked to put a small picture in it, and that’s how it started.

I think you could find that is exactly the problem. Why not take the details of the Avery template, create your own and see what the results are, I know I had to do exactly that some time ago. Whether I was using an earlier version of the template I cannot remember.

I checked the old cell (it’s in an Avery label), has no fill. I still wonder what is the real cause.

Just a thought, are you using an Avery template or one of your one creations?

Thanks for the quick reply. The JPG is fine, prints correctly in thwo other application (Irfanview, Faststone).
The logo is a photo of an exquisite jewelry. Funny thing is, after inserting it into the cell and right-clicking, the “Edit picture” option is grayed out.
When I double click it in Word, the “Format picture” box comes up, with no indication of how to convert JPG to anything (actually, no conversion
      options at all).
I have converted the original jpg with Irfanview to bmp, and lo and behold: it’s printed out fine!
Thank you very much for a solution.
      Adam

I had this a few years ago. If my memory is correct it was caused by having a fill in the cell. Could have been through the stationery being (In my case Cyan) Back to the old standard of Blue text on Cyan background.

I am unfamilar with 2007, in 2003 I highlight the text then apply my style. Also you can use Format Painter. The line breaks can be removed by using search replace

I use SnagIt as my primary, but also like “Graphic Workshop Pro” from Alchemy
      http://www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/gwspro.html
There are many graphic programs from this developer.
From what I can see it is similar to Irfanview

    • in reply to: Infinity Symbol #1158952

You can find it here in Insert Symbol, or type 221E followed by Alt-X

I have learnt a lot this afternoon (down under) I worked through the equation editor having not used it for years, was about to post and Stuart beat me. Came to the same result as Stuart.

I still use the ANSI codes and to obtain infinity , change the font to symbol and type 0165 on the numeric keypad whilst holding down the Alt key.

    • in reply to: Vertical Printing #1158611

No the letters of the text are actually stacked on top of each other like this:
      H
      E
      L
      L
      O

Only sideways. Think of this, “Hello” only each letter is turned 90 degrees counter clockwise.

May I suggest that you open an old document in Word, print and advise on that behaviour, as a precaution I would make a duplicate first of that file.

    • in reply to: ASCII for Cubed #1158313

If you want a superscripted 3, try Alt+0179. This should yield this — ³ — and be present in ordinary fonts.

Similarly Alt + 0178 gives squared

    • in reply to: WOPR 2003 Error #1157665

With that advice in mind is there any way that this issue can be resolved?

I have been a user since version 1, I don’t use it often but I will sure miss the program.
