I too have had a problem. The update downloads OK but when I try to install it, it complains that I don’t have IE6 installed and I very definitely do!!!

Use the Windows key on your keyboard (between the ALT and CTL keys) in conjunction with ‘E’. This opens explorer with “My Computer” open and all network drives shown.

Hi Merc, this last weekend I used the latest (2002?) version of Ghost to upgrade a 20G drive to a 40G drive, then clone the drive for a second machine. Whole thing took under 1 hour.

One strange thing… I know the two machines have almost identical specs and components, but the machine onto which I cloned XP didnt complain or suggest I re-activate!!! (I do have multiple licenses by the way…MSDN)

Norton Ghost, version 6 handles all disk formats (PC) before XP (NTFS 5). If NTFS 5 is on the disk, you’ll need the latest, whatever version number that is.

Executed from a floppy, it allows you to copy all partitions onto a new disk, and increase each partition size as you require.

Sorry guys I just re-read the instructions. I was looking for the “Limit Bandwidth” in the TREE view not in the CONTENTS. Found it and changed it OK!!

Hi Merc, Yes I am logged in as administrator of the local machine, not Network Administrator. Does this make a difference? I am running XPPro on an NT domain.

I am running XP on a 233 P2 and its not that unpleasant an experience. However on my 1Gig P3s its a blast.

I have had a look at the settings and under QOS Packet Scheduler, I see 3 sub items, but not Limit Reservable Bandwidth. I am logged in as administrator to this computer, should this be network administrator?

What you say is true, however, noone can get hold of the Free version just now!!

      AVG 6.0 Free Edition

AVG Free Edition download is due to overwhelming interest in AVG antivirus not available now. AVG Free distribution will be open again at the latest on 1st December 2001. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Alternativly visit http://www.royalporthcawl.com/hole18.htm and click the Strokesaver logo. I think its the sort of thing you want. View Source of the page to find the PopIt function near the top of the code, and its use down in the body.

I think that Win2k workstation doesnt support mirroring, you need to have the server version.

    • in reply to: Installing Windows XP Upgrade In Multiboot Config #552468

I would check that there isn’t a licensing issue, since, and someone correct me if I’m wrong, an upgrade from Win98 to Win XP means you can no longer legally use the Win98 code.

Thanks, I sort of worked it out for myself using the Response.Write method.

    • in reply to: FrontPage and Table Widths (2000) #548753

Usings Frontpages settings for your tables, especially tables in tables can be quite exciting. if you have designed a page, it is best to use absolute pixel settings for all of the tables and the cells. Start out using the wysiwig editor to get a general setup, but then set the properties by hand. Missing out just one cell in a table can give very strange results.

If your menus are that big, why don’t you organise them into sub menus to get them onto the screen. Use Explorer if you want, but I would use the right mouse context menus on the All programs menu to create new folders and drag applications or application groups onto these new folders.
