    • in reply to: different header per page (word 2002) #1038306

      Hello HansV:)

What I meant was that I am creating cells without the proper detailed infomation, I have added some text, but not all per cell. I have dones a hard section break to go onto the next page.

I just don’t want the user to start adding the information, only to find the table splitting in the wrong sections, so I wanted to leave room for additional text.

Your rewritten explantion as usual is fab, will keep your instructions in mind.

can you confirm for me that 6 pt is equal to one return and 12 pt is equal to two returns?

No more questions for tonight, I promise.

      Hello HansV, Jscher:

No worries, I delete the header, and only kept the footer part, I did not like the extra page, from the section break.

I have another question. I have a table that I created, that has four cells horiziontal, and eight verticle, I can completely fill in the cells with information, as the info has not been provided. I am trying to leave room for more infomation.

I need to insert a new page and continue the table, what is the best way to create this new page?

      Thanks

      Hello Hans:

I have figured out how to use the Paragraph boarder, the problem that I am having is that I cannot control the lenght of the horiztonal line, I would appreciate it if someone could explain how to create the different sizes.

      Thanks

      Hello HansV, Jscher:

By George I’ve got it, I was able to use the tool to remove the line. I wanted to know what is the better way to create a straight line.

I used the horizontal line tool, would like to hear from anyone, who might have a better idea.

      Thanks

    • in reply to: Editing a footnote (Word XP) #1029221

      Hello Jesher, Jan:

Thanks for providing those options, I have decided to change the right hand margin to 0.8. I had the opportunity to try the changes on a copy from the original document, and it seemed to solve the problem.

      Cheers

      Hello Stuart:

You must read minds! I was going to ask you some more detailed questions. I have been at this since 12.30 pm today.

I will print out your instructions (fantastic) and mule of them for the rest of the evening, and start fresh tomorrow.

Your the best, thank you so very much for just taking the time to type out the information.

Stuart, will you be thinking about purchasing the new word 2007? I played around with it the other day, I think the ribbon is fab, but I feel that the user looses control over the document. Not too mention the very simple details are lost in the shuffle.

      Hello Stuart:

Wow, your too fast at posting; can I just copy what you have done. hopefully, I can analyze your contribution, the funny thing about it, is that I never will have to type the document myself, but I still want to master the style technique.

I have checked out ShaunaKelly site, but I really did not get a practical opportunity, if you have any information on how I can learn from scratch, I would appreciate you providing a link

      Thank so very much

    • in reply to: Numbering (Word 2002) #1028910

      Hello Stuart:

Thank you so very much; no I do not need the first one. The number only starts at 1.1 and so forth.

One question for you, when I get to 1.1 – .3 what do I need to do to automatically make 1.2 appear? I am not good at styles. I was thinking of creating a custom style for this part, what do you think?

      Thanks dillon

      (Edited by dillon65 on 16-Sep-06 20:05. )

      Hello Stuart:

Thanks for your support, I apologise for not being more specific. I have enclosed the attachment for your viewing.
The top section highlighted in yellow is from the original document; the second part, is my unsuccessful attempt of trying to duplicate the original.

I would like to be able to create a style of some sort, however when I try to start a new section 1.2 the formatting does not work. I had to remove the left indent just to bring the margin back to the left side. It is not suppose to work like that.

      Thanks

      Hello:

Thanks you to all whom answered my thread, though, I am still not sure. My current computer did not come with any software. However, I did purchase a copy of the OEM version.

I suppose, I rather be safe than sorry. My IT guy sold me the OEM version, only to tell me that I need to purchase another copy. I will keep my fingers crossed, I am waiting to find out what the new specs are for office 2007.

      I have a pentium 4, with 1GB.

      Thanks again,

      Hello Mark:

After reading your post, you have put a smile on my face. thank God, for receipts; when I purchased my computer system back in 2002 it was with the OS win 98, a year later I purchased the WinXP OEM version on its own.

I could hug you, oop’s sorry…lost control for a minute.

      Thank you
