Go to How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player . . . , following the instructions, and then to Install Adobe Flash Player .

A source for Abandonware. Appears to be primarily DOS programs.

It will update if you click the task bar popup. That’s how I became aware of it. My post was to draw attention to those who might be considering installing it. The program is, indeed, a good one!

      Thanks, I’ve already done that.

      Hans,

No luck. Following “Kim’s” post I find no C:ProgramFilesMsPressTraining folder. Search shows no Irun32.exe. I tried “derrjd’s” post further down the page. He writes,
“Lrun.exe [Irun?] is not in C:ProgramFilesMspressTraining on my computer. I do not have that folder on my computer. . . . I ran a search and the only place the file is found is in C:WINDOWSSoftwareDistributionDownload250311a8847333e62d3df31d73fcbfdc. [not found on my computer] My Microsoft Interactive Training files are in folder C:WINDOWSHelpSBSITraining. The main EXE file in this folder is orun32.exe, not lrun.exe. [found orun32.exe] The phrase “Step By Step” is not listed in the Start Menu only Microsoft Interactive Training. [Yes, same on my computer, but clicking the program only brings up a sign-in form] Yet, in the Add or Remove Programs there is a listing: “Security Update for Step By Step Interactive Training…” (both KB898458 and KB923723) under “Microsoft Learning – Software Updates”. [No listing in my Add or Remove Programs]

I’d like to get rid of the Interactive Training program, but as I indicated before, it doesn’t show in Add or Remove.

      Still question scratch

Thanks, Hans, for your quick response. I’ve printed “Kim’s” response and will try the solution after I’ve prepared the family dinner. Back later.

Curious way of providing free software. A serial number is no good unless you have the software downloaded and installed. dizzy

You’re right. It’s unclear, but my assumption is that “a letter [email?] with registration data” would include download information. scratch

      Jefferson,

Your suggestions worked great. My wife reduced her documents from 30MB to 784KB! She says thankyou thankyou thankyou.

Will let you know tomorrow. It’s a project in my wife’s office, and she and her secretary will be working on it. Thanks.

I agree–a number of open source programs I wasn’t aware of. It’s important, though, to check out the alternatives to determine if they really are viable.

Sorry for the redundancy. I DID do a search for “ccleaner” prior to posting. Should have added “update” to the search, though. groan

Sorry, no experience with ParetoLogic. A Google search shows that the ParetoLogic software has a good reputation. Prices seem to range around US$30. You can provide ample anti-spyware, though, for free. A number of posts recommend Avast or AVG. If you search this forum, you’ll find ample testimony.

This page has suggestions for manually removing the pest.
