Oh my goodness! How dumb am I? What a blond moment!

None of the styles are negative indents.

Thanks for the feedback. The article was very informative.

I am not sure what you mean by “Negative Incidents”.

I have solved the problem. I turned out to be a problem with my profile on the computer. We re-created that and it solved the problem.

Do you have a calendar entry selected?

    • in reply to: Coloring Categories (MSO 2000) #626292

This feature came in in Outlook 2002.

    • in reply to: Not in Junk List, still going to Trash (XP) #608022

This is a “feature” within Outlook. See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?…b;en-us;Q298734%5B/url%5D
Basically, the Junk Mail feature uses the Junk Mail Senders list + a list of filter criteria to decide what mail is treated as Junk. It sounds like the filter is causing the mail to move. There is a file call filters.text (usually found on the c:drive) that will give you an idea of what is being filtered – although I hear that is out of date.
It is possible to add people to an exceptions list using the rules wizard, so their mail is never treated as junk mail.

Change the view to a list view, like Category, so all the appointments are listed on the page. Select Alt A to selected everything and hit delete. If there is too much in the calendar to cope with this, use the Auto Archive feature from the file menu to move anything older than today into a .pst file. Delete the .pst file when it is done.

Try right clicking on the Contacts folder and going to Properties. Go to the ‘Outlook Address Book’ tab and check that the ‘show this folder as an e-mail address book’ option is ticked.

This is what brought the whole thing up. We are currently putting together training courses for our users. With the Mailbox Cleanup tool popping up, I think we are going to need to address Auto Archiving. I am trying to work out how it works myself, so I can effectively train it – taking into account what can go wrong down the track.

I like your Idea of a guide showing what to do. I think I will do that when I have worked it all out.

    • in reply to: Personal and shared calenders (2000 SR1) #602776

Microsoft have created a program called Team Calendar that could solve the problem for you. I have had a quick look at it using Outlook 2000 on Exchange Server 5.5, but I have not used it enough to say it is good or bad.
It can be downloaded from http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/defaul…ompositedoc.xml if you are interested.

    • in reply to: Auto Archiving (XP) #602773

      Thanks unkamunka,

Up until this version of Outlook I have tried to pretend that AutoArchiving does not exist. We are about to upgrade to XP, and the Mailbox Clean-up window will appear when ever a user exceeds their size limit. I am worried about the problems the Auto Archive button is going to cause with people who don’t really know what they are doing – particularly if it creates a .pst file on the c:drive rather than a network drive. hairout

      Thanks for your help.

      Dennis,

I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago. Leif provided me with the solution in post 157791. I’m not sure how to put a link here, so here is a copy of the reply:
