Ok. I understand the process. Let me ask you this. We use a program called the winmenu to provide access to certain programs to certain people. Our IS department connects the programs to the winmenu. Currently, there is one icon for the database. If I do this, will I need to have 2 icons and explain to the users if you have 97 click here and 2003 click here?

Ok. It is something that can be done but how do I do this? Do I convert it first?

I went to the book store today to check out the book. I flipped through the chapter on registration management and saw a lot of similar features that I have in my database. I was on the way to the checkout when I decided I better check the version. We still have 97 and the database will not open in 97. I had 2003 on my computer at home but lost it to a lighting strike a week ago.

Thanks for the information. I will be buying the book as soon as I can get something to open the files.

One question: I am going to ask the user if I can create a day/time field (T,TH 5:30-8:30) instead of creating the class session every time the class is taught. If I had a student come in on the 2nd night, I guess I would have to add their name to the first night and then reprint the roster. I really would not want to give them credit for the entire class. Still thinking…

      Thanks!

I have worked with access for a long time and never noticed the build in the qbe. I have always typed it in. I got it working!

      One more question.

I have put the me! clause in the qry for the report. I know i am doing something wrong because I get prompt with parameter box. When I enter the parameters, it works great. See if you can help me here.

Main form = frmcalendar enrollment sub 2
subform 1 = frmcalendar course code
subform 2 = frmcalendar nonstudent form

the fields are dateoffered, coursecat, studentid.

Under the dateoffered in the query, how would I enter this in to accept the date off of the screen. the date is in the frmcalendar course sub form.

Thanks, I will save the information.

Let me ask you this. Do I put the commands in the vba or in the qry for the report?

    • in reply to: Report using a form (Access 97) #1016191

Yes, there is a subform involved.

      Thanks! Worked great.

      I can now sleep tonight.

Just the required classes. If they missed one of the required training (3 classes) or the training was not in the required date range, how do I print out a report with the name of the course they are missing.

      I really appreciate your help.

    • in reply to: Access – fltering records (SR97 ) #970332

Ok. This is super. One more question, how can I display the courses they did not take?

    • in reply to: Access – fltering records (SR97 ) #970322

I do understand your logic and the sample was perfect. The problem I am having is that an employee could have 50 classes and I am looking specifically for 3 of them by title. I can pull the ones who have the title but I can find the ones who have never taken the course or they took the course last year and not this year.

I really think I am making this harder than I should but my queries are not working.

WOW! I must be living in the dark ages. I would not have imagined that people would do all that stuff. Anyway, it is an AHA CPR test and we monitor who takes the test. Usually, it has been hand written so I decided to get approval to generate a CBT to help out the instructors. I can secure it to one PC but I don’t think I can secure it anymore!!!

      THANKS for everyone’s input!

I have a computer base training module out there and I want to make sure the user can not copy the test questions. I have been able to disable the right click and the copy in internet explorer does not copy and paste the module. I know that there are some savvy users out there and I just want them to not be able to capture the screen image and paste in word.
