      Hey GB –
      You may be interested in another clock feature of Win7. I like to surf the live video cameras around the world and of course you need day light to see anything, so a world clock is handy and Win7 has a clock feature that you can set up.
      In the open box when you start, type “clock gadgets” which will bring up a box with all sorts of “gadgets” bring the clock of your choice on the font page and configure it from there, you can set it so the second hand is on it and you can set it up for time zones around the world. You can then tag the clock and see if it is AM, PM etc. as well as enter text so you can tell which clock is which – you have several different clocks on you screen. I have 3, London, USA and date line.

      You man be a great grandpa but I am a great, great one, how about that;

      Sounds like you started a new drive with the card readers installed. If you want the drive letters to come up in old odrder, diss connect the usb cable of the card reader and after the new drive is up and working, then hook them back of and their drive letters will be behind those now on board.

      I hope this works for you, it does for me.

    • in reply to: How to measure the current drawn by a USB device #1212880

      BAt-
      You did not get much good info.
      there are several ways you can make a measurement but not very accurate. since you do not want to open any wires for meter insertions, then you need an exteranl dc amp clamp on meter. They make then, just go to your car battery man and watch him stick a clamp on meter to read the dc amps. If you can seperate the wires feeding the device a compass will detect the magnetic field and compare against a know standard. You get the idea I hope.
      By the way, go ask some active radio ham, they should know.

    • in reply to: PowerDesk 7 #1212037

      Tommy, I too have similar problem with Power Desk 7 on my window7pro. It starts and runs awhile and then hangs up. It seems to be running but no action until I reboot and then runs fine for awhile. I have been using Power Desk since it first came on line “free” and always kept it on all the machines I have gone through from win95 on up. I still like winXP pro where Power Desk 6
      runs fine..

      I have tried to research the hang up but guess there are no more Power Desk and so far have not found any editor or what that would for me do as good as power Desk used to.

      I think it is in need of a driver upgrade.
      good luck
