Wow! I’ve just seen what you mean and all the images don’t appear when you use the Format>Apply Stationery. Personally I’ve never used that before. I prefer to use the Down Arrow in between Create Mail and Reply then Select Stationery. Or Message>New Message Using>Select Stationery.

Hope we’re on the right track now.

Can’t help you with templates and Word sorry. Might be best if you posted your query in the Word group if you haven’t already.

A really easy way to send emails on that contain anything embedded is to save it onto your desktop then drag it over this great little utility called X-UNSENT you can download from http://lettermanstationery.tripod.com/ you must have VBS run files installed on your system though. This will clean it and restore it to original without disturbing any images or links. Another way to do the same thing without the X-UNSENT utility is to open Notepad then go to File and open your email. In between X-MSMail-Priority: Normal and X-Mailer insert the line X-Unsent: 1 then save.

      X-MSMail-Priority: Normal
      X-Unsent: 1
      X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000
X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2600.0000

      Hope this helps.

Hotbar is spyware. http://hotbar.com/install/firstvisit.asp Avoid at all costs. OK, I’ve just reread your reply to Cy. Once you have loaded your background, to add images or animations have a look at the attachment. You click the thing that looks like a mountain at the far end of your view bar where you can see the font. A picture popup will appear and then you can browse for your image or animation. To add sound just use FORMAT>BACKGROUND>SOUND and browse for that too.

      Hope this helps.

Images won’t embed if you’re using Hotbar. Now to get all the images to show correctly you must go to TOOLS>OPTIONS>SECURITY then check Internet Zone Less secure but more functional. If you’re intending to move into Stationery scripts or view Stationery scripts then I suggest you go to http://lettermanstationery.tripod.com/ and click on “What’s Installed” and it will tell you if you have everything required for viewing these types of Stationeries. Usually the only thing missing is the Meta Creations DXTMETA2.DLL for OE6 and you can download it from there with all the instructions.

I use MailWasher which checks my emails on the server and I either delete or bounce them back. Especially with the klez virus running rampant at the moment. http://http:www.mailwasher.net%5B/url%5D

I downloaded msjavx86.exe on 04/26/02 and this didn’t make any difference. However the SUN one has just done the trick. cheers

      Many thanks,

Thank you and yes I was one of those that had IE6 working well under Win 98 before I formatted last week. I have forgotten what I had to upgrade before to get the applets working. May have to try the Anfy board. As for XP grin it would be a bit like over kill on this old dinosaur.

I know Arial in a standard Microsoft font but does the recipient of your email actually have the Arial font on their computer? My OE default font is TNR. If anyone sends me an email with a fancy font that I haven’t got on my system the email shows up as TNR. When I make HTML stationery and use a fancy font I usually embed an EOT in the stationery to make sure the recipient sees the stationery as intended.

Yes I’ve been told the same thing. 🙁 Until I get most of the files burned onto CD that I want to save I’ve opted for Wizmo from http://grc.com[/url%5D to close down my system. The IE error still appears and after I close that window Gizmo does it’s thing and shuts down my system properly.

    • in reply to: Page Set up ? (Word 2000) #576564

Yes I did this and it goes straight back to those real wide left and right margins. LOL That’s why I said it is probably easier for me to manually change them each time I use Word. I don’t know what I did to stuff them up initially. I thought there must be an easy way to revert back to the default settings. Maybe I should uninstalled and then reinstalled Word?

    • in reply to: Page Set up ? (Word 2000) #576561

Sorry I didn’t explain it very well. I changed the margins in Normal.dot (incidentally I only have the one Normal.dot) and saved it as Normal.dot.doc in the templates folder. Then closed Word and and deleted Normal.dot renamed the one I saved to Normal.dot then I went back and this is when I couldn’t open up Word and got the winword.exe error. Looks like it is easier to just manually change my margins every time I use Word. ) Thanks for all your help Kevin.

    • in reply to: Page Set up ? (Word 2000) #576551

Yes that’s why I couldn’t delete it the first time. Thanks Kevin. Now I changed the margins and saved it but then I couldn’t open Word. I got a winword.exe error. Back to square one.

      Cheers, Di
