I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ll leave it alone as it is working well at the moment. I wish I could set up a new User account but each time after doing so I can’t log into it. The system freezes. It’s a second hand PC and it was loaded with several viruses and 7 of those expensive dialers. When the guy I bought it off returns from overseas, I will get all the manuals and disks and will reformat it.

Thanks to all who replied, I was hoping there was an easy fix.

I’ve had this happen after a crash and I end up saving the document I’m working on with a new name. I burn all my documents to CD often and they end up with the Read Only attribute. To save having to change each one manually I use the free Read Only Zero tool. It works with XP even though it says 95 98 & NT.

    • in reply to: Hotlinks? (2000) #940049

      Thanks John,
Unfortunately, I don’t seem to have Hyperlink in the Insert menu of my version of Publisher which came with MS Office 2000 Professional. May be I should reinstall it.

I get this error occasionally and it is annoying. One thing I notice you still have Inetcomm.dll 1106 . The latest Inetcomm.dll is 1165

      Hi Bruce,

I use them all the time for email stationeries and have dozens of different fonts already made up. I also have EZ EOT a viewer to view the fonts.

That’s a nuisance. sad Do you think upgrading to OE6 might help? Does the IE repair in the control panel work on OE as well?

I didn’t know that about 150m, I only started using it a couple of weeks ago. I notice I never get a hotlink when I put in a URL anyway. I must find out how it’s done.

Sorry I can’t help you there Phil. The Splash screen seems to take forever to disappear before it opens but after that it’s fast but not as fast as Opera 6.

I’ve had no trouble with Netscape 7.0 when I do use it. I see there is an upgrade 7.01 but I can’t see what has been improved or I’m looking in all the wrong places.

    • in reply to: Forgot Identity Password (OE6) #646824

I see, I’m sorry, it pays not to assume everyone gets their emails the same way as me. To get my email’s with OE pop3, I need my ISP password to log on. I can change my password at will too but I need to log on to my ISP server to do this. When I’m away from home I usually read my emails on my ISP server.

Good luck in finding your password. Chances are it is somewhere on your system.

Glad to help. Webpage Eot’s won’t work in Outlook Express emails though. To make eot’s for Outlook Express the tutorial is the best.

Cheryl Soshnik is brilliant when it comes to Eot’s whether it’s for wepages or emails and can usually be found in the

The answer is yes provided you use an EOT. Most OE stationery makers use them for the web and emails by using Microsoft Weft.

Goodness that does pose a problem. I guess your best bet is to ring your ISP help desk and explain the situation after all you will have your unique Username: We can’t change our passswords here in NZ without knowing the current password though.

      Good Luck.
