AskWoody LoungerBrowser security is up-to-date. As far as I know, cookies for websites are not being deleted.
This happens on Pale Moon and Firefox, same sites affected…Fortunately, not many sites. I was primarily curious (ahem) as to cause, rather than the inconvenience.

AskWoody LoungerYes, before updating, if I have “remember me,” I did not have to enter the password for my accounts. After updating, I do have to enter the passwords. I agree this may not be connected to updating???
Thanks for your time. -

AskWoody LoungerReally???? Forgive my naivete–that is something to ponder. Thanks

WScurious
AskWoody LoungerYes, web sites, for instance the New York Public Library.
I don’t like idea of a password manager because of the hack threat. Paranoid? OK

AskWoody LoungerThis is similar to Satrow’s suggestion but involves pinning/unpinning. (I got this from https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/867708) (underline added)
“After you click on Firefox in taskbar and a new instance appears, right-click the original instance and select unpin from the taskbar, then right-click on the instance still open (the 2d instance) and pin to taskbar. Close Firefox and click on the icon in the taskbar and smile at the results ”
Worked for me. Good luck

AskWoody LoungerOctober 22, 2014 at 4:05 pm in reply to: Firefox, Pale Moon address/location bar strange highlighting of letter L #1472161I’d like to but the highlighting only appears in the address/location bars and suggestions…not on web pages.
What happens when you type, say, connelly in either bar? Or any other word with 2 adjacent ‘ls’? -

AskWoody LoungerThanks, Paul. Yes, it is overkill for my modest needs….Appreciate your posting.

AskWoody LoungerI understand that, but then that will destroy all prior points and leave only the current one. Is that correct? I did want to restore to a previous point….
-
WScurious
AskWoody LoungerAs I said in original post, I did disable my AV – and also tried to restore while in safe mode.
-
WScurious
AskWoody LoungerThe error is that System Restore could not be restored to that date.
Not running any Norton product. -
WScurious
AskWoody LoungerYes, I have been trying to restore to an earlier date
-
WScurious
AskWoody LoungerHi –
Assuming it’s running ok since it tells me I cannot create a Restore point. Have tried many different dates…Thanks for your continued postings.

AskWoody LoungerAs I said in original post, they all fail. Tried at least 6 different days…. Tried Safe Mode, tried turning off AV….
