The “foam” stuff must be a new addition – we had dirt/mud (depending on the weather). I remember one time I was crawling on a jungle gym and got the bright idea to stand up on the very top – where the hole is to get down through. I slid, caught my chin on one of the bars, then landed in a pile of mud. Still have a scar on my tongue where I bit it when I hit the bar…..fun times! groovin

It was also played in the late 80s – I remember playing it myself, mostly from 3rd to 6th grades (at which point it became less “cool”).

ETA: And, we used chalk to draw the squares, not tape.

We’ve seen this problem before – try clearing your Temporary Internet Files. In IE, click on the Tools menu and select Options. On the General tab, click the Delete Files button. Click OK to close the dialog box when complete.

      Does this solve the problem?

    • in reply to: Viewing Word docs posted on Web (IE 6/Word 2000) #789333

Apologies – I just rechecked the issue. What actually displays is the image placeholder (the little square, circle and triangle) in the upper left corner. This only happens with Word documents. We discovered the issue for this user because he cannot view Word docs posted to our Intranet – we use Sharepoint. The issue then expanded to all Word docs posted anywhere on the web when we tested other sites.

WIll give the “Browse in same window” trick a shot. Thanks for your assistance.

    • in reply to: Unwanted style changes when setting a tab (Word 97) #788941

Could be your styles are being defined based on your formatting – not sure if this was an option in Word 97, though. In Word 2000 and XP – Tools, Autocorrect, Autoformat As You Type tab – remove checkmark from “Define styles based on your formatting.”

      HTH!

Final resolution was a complete reinstall of Office.

      Thanks for your assistance.

One more thing – although she does have a non-standard keyboard (ergonomic), it is not set up (nor can I find any settings) for any language other than English.

      (eta – I’m finally a LOUNGER!!!)

Thanks for your assistance. The language is set to English (US), and detect language automatically is not checked. Just to be sure, I reset that as the default, and still the crash.

User says the last thing she did in Word that was “out of the ordinary” was to download clipart from the MS gallery online. I’m almost to the point of reinstalling Word. One other interesting side effect – after the crash, when user reopens Word, it is listed as Document 7 every time (even after deleting and recreating the Normal.dot).
