I don’t know if this book has been updated for the 2003 Version yet, but of the Project books I have read I found the Sybex book Mastering Microsoft Project 2002 by Gini Courter ISBN 0-7821-4147-1 to be very straight forward and comprehensive. I have read several Project books that were very feature rich, but not much practical application. This book really helped me understand the product.

      Hi Laurie,

I found on a project plan I was working on that had a very short duration (24 hours) one of the defaults of Project is to round Gantt bars to whole days. You might look in Format – Details and remove the check mark from Round Gantt Bars to Whole days and see if you get a more accurate picture.

If you open a code window and select View Immediate to open the Immediate window you can type in
      ?DBEngine.SystemDB
It will tell you the path to the Workgroup file being used for the database you have open. This may help you determine which mdw is being used by the database you are opening and where the one you want to use is located.

You could go to the forms properties and make the Data Entry property yes. This should make the form open to the first new record and not allow the user to see already entered records. I am thinking there might be some issues with a scrolling mouse you might want to look into if your users have this type of mouse.

      Mostafa,

There is not a way that I know to export Project Reports. For the purpose of sending Project reports to others to view that don’t have Project software I have used Ghost View:
      http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/
a free download that provides a report viewer. There is another product called Cute Writer that does the same thing, I have not used it myself, but know others that have.

There are Administrative reports with Project Server software for displaying Resource non-working time in a report or Project file, I believe Project Central, the collaborative product for Project 2000 also had some similar options.

      Hi Gary,

To create the report I use to print Calendar information for all Resources in a simple printed format:

      Select View – Reports
      Select the Custom catagory
From the reports dialog box select the New command button
In the New dialog box select Resources as the type of report
Select the Calendar check box from the Resource detail section
Report needs some cleaning up in regards to formatting, but will give all resource calendar details.

Have you tried using one of the Calendar reports? This would give you a simplified of all of your resource calendars

      Thanks Hans,

You are correct I did paste the incorrect second expression
Expression you sent worked perfect, I only had to adjust the numbers 1 day forward to make 10 full days after the current date.
